I was wondering if you guys still heard voices" while on your meds", and if so how often.
Also are you still experiencing paranoid thoughts while on meds?

I’m on Invega, 9mg.
While it has made my voices weaker and lower, I still hear them. Most days they’re just background noise and easily ignorable, but on bad days they get louder.
I sometimes have paranoid thoughts too, but not as bad as without meds.
I don’t hear my voices, they’re in my thoughts, but yes I still have them. And also I still have paranoia. But the meds do make the voices weaker.
edit: I take geodon 160mg, zoloft 100mg, and lithium 300mg.
Clozapine, lithium and lamotrigine help somewhat but not fully
Mine come back when my injection begins wearing off. I have to have the highest dose of injection Invega. When on Risperdone I had to take it 3 times a day and still had paranoia.
I’ve never had a medicine eliminate the hallucinations completely. Zyprexa helps with other stuff, like feeling lost or disconnected, but the voices still happen, just not as often.
I am on 1000 mg Depakote and 10 mg Zyprexa. I take Benztropine as needed for akathisia.
On 30 mg Haldol I get breakthrough voices once or twice a month, and I am still always paranoid. My pdoc told me there isn’t a med that specifically targets paranoia.
I only hallucinate when I forget my meds. But it’s usually visual and audio hallucinations at the same time. I rarely just hear voices but it happens sometimes. I recently bought a pill box to help me realize whether or not I forgot my meds. I never forget them at night but I often forget in the morning.
I had bad paranoia in the beginning. For about 6 years or so. It faded when I started taking benzos. Specifically Xanax. APs never helped. I still have a little paranoia but it’s not nearly as disabling as it used to be. I used to be crippled with it.
I dont have voices. Paranoid thinking is gone though on higher doses of meds - as is my happiness. On my current dose (0.7mg haldol) or in a very short period without meds (I tend to forget meds about twice a week :() I have sometimes no paranoid thoughts at all, sometimes a bit of controllable paranoia, and rarely a real bad time with stronger delusions. It fluctuates a lot, depending on my cycle and stressful events and random fluctuations in mood.
Yep still have voices but they’re reduced by my meds.
117mg Invega shot, 300mg soon to be 600mg Lithium
Never had hallucinations but I have paranoia. It is manageable now.
I’ve never heard voices when taking meds as prescribed but I’ve played around with them or gone off them or not been on them yet and I heard voices at those times.
I’m surprised (and sad) that so many can still hear them sometimes through the meds. Thanks for listing the meds too.
I’m working on getting better at tuning them out entirely, but I’m aware that if I try to tune in (often by mistake when I first wake up) I still do sometimes hear them.
Well i’m happy to report that i haven’t heard my voices for a couple of weeks now. I still experience paranoia but it is a lot more reduced. I take Ziprasidone 160 mg, Clozapine 200 mg and Effexor 225 mg. Since the Clozapine has been introduced into my medication regime, i’ve noticed great improvement in many areas of my life. I no longer get breakthrough psychotic episodes for a start.
Yes sometimes idk how often, last time i heard like two months ago. And yes i take my antipsychotic med everyday. Also some paranoid thoughts but not without a reason like out of nowhere. I have my reasons to believe them
I still hear voices with 80mg zyprexa, 60mg abilify and 60mg haldol. They are few and mild though
