Do you own records and a record player?

I just found out where a vinyl record store is near me and plan on going soon. I am looking for classical guitar, Jeff Beck, Ry Cooder, and Swamp Dogg records.

No. I’m an Apple Music fan. All music of the world at your fingertips

I got rid of all my cds when I returned from overseas and my cat had killed my vinyl collection by using it as a scratching post.

Still. My 50th birthday the kids got me a bluetooth record player with a set of decent audio technica headphones so I actually have a bit of vinyl I listen to on occasion when I feel in the mood.

My last album I bought was Pink Floyds The Wall as it was one of those cornerstone records of my teens. It is fun to re-visit it years later.

I love vinyl records. Have a nice collection and an awesome player.

Also love to stream music on Spotify.

Yes, I buy records on vinyl.

I know that they are expensive and collecting vinyl is a fad and that they will probably not be worth a lot of money in the near future.

But it’s a hobby of mine. I love putting them on and seeing them spin.

Also I have kind of descent stereo equipment which makes it more enjoyable.

I now listen mostly on Spotify and Youtube. When technology was not that developed used to buy and listen to cassettes on tape recorder.

I want to get turntables, or perhaps a more modern dj deck

Yes, I have a turntable and collect vinyl. I have Apple Music on my phone, but there’s just something fun about vinyl, love playing my records. I don’t listen to my CDs anymore, and I threw away all of my cassettes decades ago, but I love my records, have a whole list of records I plan to acquire.

Collecting vinyl is a fun hobby, but it can get a little expensive. The records I have cost me an average of around $35-40 each, and to get a decent-sounding setup cost me over $400. You could get just a cheap $50 record player with built in speakers for now, though. That’s all I had at first.

This is the whole setup:

I need to take pictures now that the led signs are up. Here’s the tapeless desk above my work desk (I work from home using the system at the left):

I’m “the customer from Canada.”

I love vinyl and have quite a few records I aquired over the last few years. I pretty much have all my favorite music that is possible to obtain on vinyl. Most of it is second hand. I probably won’t buy any more unless something special to me should become available.

To me the sound is better on vinyl. More warm and alive as it is uncompresed music. I guess this is the main reason why vinyl still is around.

Well said.

I like vinyl bc you basically have to listen to the whole album as the artist intended.

Get those B sides.

Yeah, that’s true. That is another aspect of it. Many artists even today stay true to the format, making sure the album will fit on a vinyl.

I enjoy taking a break after listening to a side. 20-25minutes at a time suits me well.

Yes, we have them. I can’t say I have them as hubby shows more interest than I do, but they are here. My player doesn’t have a direct speaker, which kinda sucks but does make transport easier.

Speaking of vinyl I just preordered Coal Chamber’s vinyl box set, six albums. It will be released later this month. Hell yeah. :+1::metal::grin:
