Im thinking of getting a collection of vinyls
I used to collect but these days vinyl costs a fortune because they are popular again.
Also getting a good turntable doesn’t come cheap.
I had vinyls in the past.
I still have bootlegs of Judas Priest on vinyl.
I wanna sell them
you should see how many Phil has down in his man cave.
he does lots of work for The Underground here local,
a record store and more,
and he usually gets them free.
I’ve done doggie sitting for the owner.
we’re all good friends.
I love vinyl and my direct drive turntable.
They are awesome. I have a nice collection.
Vinyl, latex and whips.
There are quite a few used vinyl stores around here and I like the sound and nostalgia for a change. I just have a small Victrola portable turntable but it sounds decent when I plug it into a larger speaker. It’s hard to find used records that aren’t warped. I have some Beatles, Steely Dan, Monkees and about a dozen other records. I kinda wish I still had a color organ lol.
My family got me a bluetooth record player for my 50th. It’s good. I’m still buying the odd bit of vinyl but it’s different from my memories from back in the day. That old turntable whine is way less and it’s a more digital experience for sure but still it’s nice.
I’m back collecting but with my minimalist perspective I only get the good things…Last buy was the Wall by Pink Floyd. It was good to revisit one of my teenage favorite albums which got me into music!
I’m a vinyl enthusiast
My spouse has 1000+ vinyl collection, and almost all we listen to is on vinyl
We don’t use spotify or things like that, I love the sound of vinyl album and the cover art and everything about them. It’s a way of life almost. I buy my music on vinyl because I want to support the artists and have a physical version of their art. I feel listening to music online isn’t as spiritual. You can find great old vinyls on flea markets and second hand, with a small price tag. The only bad thing about my spouse’s vinyl collection is that they take space and we don’t have enough room to store them.
I love vinyl. Only discovered it a couple of years ago. The sound is more real, like it’s more present than digital sound.
I have a good collection already, but I decided I won’t use more than a fixed space for storing them. So that means I’ll have to trade something out if I want something new.
had a record player once. got it at goodwill. all i had was sandanista. it was slightly warped but sounded real trippy on lsd. i just use itunes these days.
I used to collect. At the end, I had well over 1000 pieces and two crates of 7” singles. Lots of rare and collectible stuff. But I had to sell the collection, along with two full stereo systems when I moved to the manufactured home I live in now.
Now I just do Spotify and YouTube mainly. And instead of a stereo, I have a little Wi-Fi speaker.
I don’t mind. It was an awful lot of stuff to make room for. I like keeping my possessions to a minimum now. It’s enough for me to know that I had what I had.
Do you know where i can buy real good ones?
eBay has a lot. Different genres, good prices.
Discogs. But people there know the prices of different pressings pretty well, so I don’t know is Discogs cheap. But it is good.
