Do you think it’s a problem if we are banned from buying guns? Do you think it’s just misplaced outrage that we’re the scapegoats for?

What is a mentally ill person? Am I a mentally ill person?
Specifically, I spent nearly two years of my life in bins in 6 or 7 hospitalizations, but all of that was voluntary.
I wouldn’t own one if I could. I’m too afraid of having one.

I use to have a few mainly hunting rifles but when I was first diagnosed my dad removed them all from the house. Said it was for my own safety.

Most countries restrict guns. It is not easy to get guns in most countries. America is a screwed up execption. I was a psycho in the past and would have liked to kill other people with a gun and then shoot myself in the head. Mentally ill people shouldn’t have guns!!!

I am even skeptical of the use of guns for law enforcement! I don’t believe in hunting animals either! Yes, violence can occur in the absence of these weapons. But usually not as far reaching violence.
What business would I have owning a gun anyway? I live in a very nice neighborhood. I have never had to defend myself, in fact, the police here are bored.
I believe in self defence too, but bullets moving in two directions will only kill twice as many people. At the most, give police officers guns and no one else. It seems to be working elsewhere.

I do not own a gun and do not want to ever! I don’t mind being banned from buying guns. I wish there was more restriction on owning them and getting them - even for normies.

If I had a gun I would kill myself. Period. Not even that I want to die that bad, I’m just so impulsive and suicidal that I would.
If every time I tried killing myself I had a gun, I would be dead 30 times. Glad I don’t have one.
I also think people shouldn’t just have their guns around. Or even accessible to me. I would most likely steal it. And then kill myself.
Glad that we have strict gun laws where I live.

I don’t have a gun and have no desire for one. Kinda have mixed feelings about it. If it’s a sport for you I don’t like the idea that someone could be take that away from you. Also feel like we should be able to protect ourselves. Maybe it should be a Case by case situation I don’t know. But there are definitely mi people that shouldn’t own them. There are also norms that shouldn’t own them. Seen were there by were 33 people killed by someone with a knife the other day. So I kinda be think we just have to live with the risk. If there’s enough people out there with concealed carry permit . We would be better off maybe someone with a permit could have stopped that guy with the knife that killed 33. We all need to take care of our own selves. According to the poll we as a. Group have been pretty responsible, last I seen none of us have guns. The criminals don’t follow the rules anyway, so why tie the hands of someone that could possibly protect you or a loved one?

In the UK we realised a long time ago that you shouldn’t let any idiot own a weapon.

I own several guns. My family does a bit of hunting but mainly I just use it for target shooting.
I enjoy the sport of it. I’d only ever use guns on another person in extreme self-defense. And I hate the thought of suicide by gun.
For me it’s just fun to compete. It forces me to focus on something else and steady my breathing so it’s very calming actually. Tbh I’m not going as much anymore because the noise from the range is distressing.
So now I’m more into archery.
Now I think definitely there needs to be more rules and regulations on buying and owning guns. Cause obviously there is a problem with gun crime.
But I definitely don’t think we should ban them all together.
I find it interesting that you guys think we should never own a gun. What about your second amendment rights? It’s only a very small amount of mentally ill people that would do something like that.its unfair to take away the rights of the majority of mentally ill people that would never do something like that. I’m a female and I don’t own a gun. If I ever live alone someday I would like my second amendment rights to own one. None of these shooters were female anyways.if they want a pshycological test I’m okay with that.

I would have to follow you if I were there when you did that. I watched a girl steal a huge full bottle of liqour and run away by herself with it and I had to follow to make sure she did not hurt herself. I wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself.

I remember Rosie odonnelle didn’t want anyone to own a gun. The national rifle association was pointing out the hipocracy of her body guard carrying one.

I don’t own a gun but I am thinking about getting a butterfly knife to protect myself. The political climate is ■■■■■■. Last summer there was literally a big white pick up truck with flags on the back and a big sign that said “TRUMP” and blaring country music going down the road I live on.
And not to mention the dirty looks some people give me. Or the pre judgemental tone in the way they speak.
There was a kid at the university my cousin goes to that pulled a knife out and was screaming “kill all illegals” around the same time in florida the thing happened. The kid had graduated 3 years ago but still hung around the school implying he has no friends and immigrants took all the friends too so jobless and friendless because of immigrants.
