Do you have debt?

I never did until this past year. We went through our savings paying for treatment. We own a business, but my husband missed a lot of work caring for me and helping our family when I wasn’t doing well.

Including the laptop I bought yesterday I am 5800 in debt. My monthly payments come out to about 250. I pay all the extra I can. But in my new living situation I will be debt free in one year or sooner. I’m pretty excited about that. You will work your way back out of debt. A hand full of years ago I was over 10000 in debt and I’ve been working hard to pay it down, so it can be done, even on a low budget like mine.

How old are you. I got in debt last year with credit card bills when I went off meds but I’m paying it back. Was 2800$ in debt now it’s down to $2000. I’ve been paying $200 of my ssdi towards my cc bill each month. I’m never gonna use a cc again they’re very dangerous for me. I’m 29 now I realize debit is the way to go. Cool you started a business!! Way to go!!!

I have friends who were in thousands worth of debt, but they had it all cancelled. The only consequences they had were they were not eligible for a lot of types of credit for about 5 years.

Plus I still owe family members money.

I’m not in debt. One of the plus sides of not working is not being suitable for getting a loan.
I have a couple of k in my account.

Ive brought alot of my debts down lately - I just owe about £120 on the credit card, and £150 on the overdraft, which is always paid off every 2 weeks. So im not doing too badly. Its when the gas and electric bill comes in that knackers me - but i always manage to pay it somehow.

I add that i have a terrible habit of blowing about £150 a fortnight on amazon goods - cos every payday i like to treat myself (I love opening parcels!) it makes me feel good. So really - im quite well off, if i didnt spend at 2am on One Click Buy.

I’m 34. Way to work hard at paying down debt! My husband started working at the business when he was 16 and bought it when he was 23!

@catch22
I was that way for a number of years!

Did they file bankruptcy?

@nfy
Do you have a plan for paying it off? Do you receive disability? Do you live on your own?

Good plan to pay it down!

@Winterblues
Do you plan to work to pay it off?

No, it was something similar. A charity helped them do it.

I owe about $3K on our car, but we plan on paying it off next month thanks to our tax refund. We pay off our credit card every month. After paying off my student loans I try really really hard to not be in debt.

I have a ton of debt. Student loans, things bought on credit, unpaid bills…
I’ve been to court for it several times, but they just declared me insolvent and sent me on my merry way.
