I find them hard to follow as a big part of my life is my precious religion.
Basically, the rule is no disrespectful language. That includes ALL words used to dehumanize or “other” groups of people. No need to get into a debate over which has caused more damage. I’m sure opinions on the subject will vary greatly depending on every person’s own experiences.
It’s exactly as bad as those words if you or a loved one has to be disrespected by it. Unless you have to live with such a disability the words aren’t “that bad”.
Like to the rest of the world saying something or someone is crazy is nothing at all. Until you get a diagnosis and that word can be hurtful.
As @Ninjastar said, all hurtful words are banned. We don’t need to debate on what hurts who most, just respect the pain.
Is psycho a banned word?
Because it’s the only slur that really offends me tbh, maybe because it hits me on a personal level and makes it feel like people using that word to describe themselves like that fukken song are glorifying mental illness.
I believe we take it on a case by case basis. Some folks here have tried to reclaim words like crazy and psycho and since those are our words, I think they should be allowed to do so. Just like how lgbtq members can use queer to describe themselves, but another member calling someone queer as an insult is banned.
Well personally I laugh off the R word and feel deeply, irrevocably offended by the F word. I’m obviously fine with leaving all three out of my vocabulary.
The ironic part is that the only thing I could really get called the R word for would be motor-movement side effects of the medication I’m on. So it would be due to the medication and not the underlying diagnosis, which is absurd to me.
Similarly, I don’t think I would be personally offended at being called the N word. I would be disgusted at the person who said it, most likely, but it wouldn’t hurt me because I know the word isn’t meant to dehumanize people like me. We are most hurt by the words meant to hurt us. There’s no debate over which is worse.
Yeah, that makes sense.
Usually. Sometimes I really wish I could talk about certain things in my life that have to do with religion and politics. But overall I’ve been able to follow them. I messed up twice and didn’t realize I was messing up but I’ll just try not to repeat that.
I got flagged for a cute doggie pic in the cat thread, the rules are pretty easy to follow
I follow the rules pretty well. I’ve been flagged and stuff but I learned and am willing to continue to learn. Mods are Johnny on the Spot to keep the BS to a minimum which is awesome.

I find the rules easy to follow, except I like to use the occasional curse word. But I’ve never been flagged for it. Sometimes you gotta drop the f-bomb.
I don’t have issues with the rules. Curse words slip out from me sometimes but thankfully they’re censored, lol.
We understand this aand try not to get on people for swears, unless they’re swearing AT someone. Although swearing is technically against the rules, we let the censor filter take care of that. When people keep trying to get around it by adding ) and * in the middle of the word, it starts to cross the line.
Been flagged a few times for inappropriate memes or bad jokes. But I think they’re easy to follow.
Well, there are convos you just can’t have here. But there are plenty of other places to let loose so that’s okay.
I find them easy to follow. I don’t like posting controversial topics or participating in them. It’s just healthier for me. I’ve probably annoyed people unintentionally, but everyone here has been nice enough not to tell me.
I just dont understand why the swear filter isn’t optional like on other sites.
Swearing doesn’t bug me, and if a post contains a lot of censores words it gets hard to read.
I use to get flagged for religious talk and fueling others delusions but I’ve been a good boy since then

For a while it was tough to handle the rules especially when they censored politics but after a while I got so sick of that subject in my country that I found it easier to follow as things went along. I don’t get my posts hidden, or get kicked off the site as much as I used too.
