Surprisingly enough, my parents do not have schizophrenia. My mom went through a phase in her adolescence when she had hallucinations and delusions but that passed. Seems like I got the short end of the stick ever since I was born.

my grandpa had it, he died way before i was born due to alcohol poisoning or something like that. he was a bad man, physically & sexually abused my mom and her brothers. so it gave me a not very good idea on schizophrenia when i was younger and still quite ignorant.
2/3 of my uncles also had/have it. paranoid sz and disorganized sz. the one with paranoid sz died too, we don’t know why, his other brother walked in on him, sitting on the floor on the couch cushions in front of his couch, dead.

Your dad might feel guilty, even though it’s not his fault. Remember that he’s only human and has been fighting sz longer than you have but with fewer resources. He may think that you are handling it better than he did because you’re facing it and getting treatment. He may think he has nothing to offer you.
My son has sz from me. It breaks my heart. He and I do talk about it and he knows I’m open to talk about it anytime. But ultimately that’s all I can do for him. It’s such a lonely disorder…
Anyway, encourage your dad. Ask him questions. Be kind, he’s probably exhausted. I know I am.

Its all OK , I once went through it. But I am thinking about my visual haulicination. If it is a phenomenal than what relation it makes with my son.

My mom got schizo around the age of 35 - my aunt around the age of 40
Me around the age of 21 - but I had symptoms already growing up.

I think my dad has some crazy issues too - I have all the negative things in my whole family - =(

  • tic disorder
  • schizophrenia
  • alcoholism
  • vitiligo
  • who the hell knows?

I think there is no problem with schizophrenia if you able to bear your soul. Good night!
