Hi @Gwen777. There are a few of us here who listen to classical and some of us who like all kinds of instrumental music including electronica but are thrown off by lyrics or feel that words are browbeating perhaps.
With me itās partly age, but partly style. In the early 70ās I didnāt like rock, which turned into hard rock, and now metal. I like quieter music with interesting lyrics. A few of the songs Iāve listened to here I would go back to again + maybe find some artists to listen to - mostly for the lyrics. Not a lot of musicality to them, but what I used to listen to had maybe too much melody. I like songs that are good for the soul - artisticā¦ Is metal good for the soul? I donāt know.
I love a wide variety of music from Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Rihanna to classical soundtracks from artists like John Williams, Carter Burwell, Danny Elfman, Epic Score, Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, Howard Shore and so on. To Ambient music like Adrian Von Ziegler, Atrium Carceri, Cryo-Chamber, and Lustord and so on.
I also like some Rap from Eminem, Missy Elliott, and Nellyā¦R&B artists Mariah Carey, Jill Scott, Monica, Toni Braxtonā¦
New Age Artists like Dan Gibson Solitudes, David & Steve Gordon, Enya, Enigma, Mind Illumin8tion, Riley Leeā¦
also like some rock like Beatles, aerosmith, the cranberries, Carpenters, blink-182, The doors, Queen, Evanescence, Imagine Dragons Lisa Loebā¦I could keep going but itās along those lines.
It all depends on the mood Iām in. If I have to much noise in my head or want something to spark my creativity I like the more Ambient style or New age, maybe even classic soundtracks. If Iām in a good mood and want ane energy boost I listen to the othersā¦and it all depends on if Iām in the mood for classic rock, or Popā¦
I go to bed early on Fridays now because training is at 10am on Saturdays
I dropped out of listening to popular music around 1990 and listen to mostly classical, jazz, new age, trance, electronic, etc.
But I want to thank forum members for introducing me to R.E.M., Coldplay, and some similar groups.
I think musical taste depends a lot on your age (69 for me) and on whether you like feeling nostalgic, not so much on your diagnosis.
Metal. Hate rap.
I am mostly into electronic music. trance & progressive house are my absolute favorites in that. apart from electronic music, Iām also into classical, musical theatre, pop, indie, etc.
