I started taking it for heart health cause I dont eat fish. I was just wondering if it helps you mentally?
Yes I take it for mood and psychosis.
I was buying a Carlson’s liquid fish oil, lemon flavored, and taking a tbsp. a day of that. it didn’t make me any sharper I don’t think, the one thing I noticed is it seemed to soothe my brain as it went down for a second or two. I stopped buying it though, it’s been months since I took it, my mom finished off my last bottle and I haven’t been to gnc to get anymore. I used to buy it after my therapy session, as my therapist was right next to gnc, but I stopped going to therapy.
It’s a good idea @anon12381882.
Fish oil has a lot of health benefits.
I am prescribed fish oil and it helps stabilize my moods.
But I was prescribed fish oil to help lower high triglycerides.
I take fish oil but it doesn’t make any noticeable difference in how I feel.
It’s supposed to be good for your heart and I take it because Geodon is supposed to be bad for your heart.
My wife is concerned for me because she says it causes prostate cancer.
Nothing is perfect.
Hopefully the good outweighs the bad.
I take fish oil, the gel cap ones from Trader Joe’s. Don’t know if they help or not but I heard it’s good for you so I take it. I also put some coconut oil in my coffee as well.
Yeah I’m glad I dont have a prostate with the sarcosine I’m on. My dad had prostate cancer and so did his brother.
My mom puts coconut oil on her skin. Just a little bit though.
I took VegEPA fish oil for about 6 months. It’s just the EPA component of fish oil and it’s pharma grade. EPA is supposed to be good for schizophrenics.
Drumroll… It did absolutely nothing for me.
I was prescribed Omega-3 pills by my general practitioner for the health benefits.
It supposedly can do a lot for a person’s cognitive/mental health as well.
No plans to discontinue it.
I used to take it all the time
then Phil suggested we take cod liver oil
my doctor told me to immediately stop taking that one
the discharge papers did tell me why
I take it but doesn’t do much for my mental health as far as I can tell
I continue take it as it’s recommended
My dr told me it can help mentally …
I do take a tablet every day.
I do not eat seafood.
it keeps your brain generally healthy! yes its good, but is more preventative and repairitive i think than actually stopping psychosis immediately like AP’s do
my doctor just prescribed it for me. My ldl cholesterol is too high although my overall cholesterol is fine. I know is has the added benefit of being healthy for the brain too.
I got some garlic supplements
I use it. But i read it can cause anxiety and insomnia, which i have lots of recently. So i will stop for a while to see what happens.
Fish oil is good for your brain. I eat lots of fish-- salmon, anchovies, sardines, etc., so I don’t need to take fish oil capsules. My favorite dinner is baked salmon.
I’ve been taking fish oil capsules three times a day for about four or five years now. It really helps stabilize my mood. I swear by it. It works in conjunction with good nutrition, sleep hygiene, daily exercise, and daily meditation.
I’ve learned in the latest scientific research that fish oil capsules offer no cardiovascular benefits. Contrary to public opinion.
I saw that too, but I really think they are wrong about that.
This is all anecdotal on my part, but the longest living people I have known have all eaten fish on a regular basis. Maybe there is a difference between eating the fish vs. swallowing the capsules?
