How is it going for you? I feel okay on it. I just need to quit sleeping in the daytime. It has been better for me than other meds.
It’s the only antidepressant that works for me. I stupidly got off it years ago so it took way more to work when I came back to it. It gave me bad ibs symptoms when on big doses but I’ve since come down to like 150 mgs and it is a lot better. It’s been a lifesaver for me.
I had horrible experience from effexor. It can be hard to quit that drug.
It worsened my panic-attacks and depression. I was on it for years and it also made me unempathetic and indifferent. It was a very hard drug to quit with lots of withdrawal symptoms.
It works for some but not for me.
I’m on paxil now. It helps a little with depression but not panic attacks.
My friend used effexor for a couple of years and he didn’t notice any side -effects nor withdrawal symptoms.
Effexor had no effect on me. I didn’t have trouble getting off. It didn’t cause excessive hunger in me. Medicine has really made me hungry, insatiable, but mostly zyprexa, paxil, and prolixen. I’m currently on lybalvi and I don’t have hunger issues, seems I got a break after three decades of hunger! Lybalvi is zyprexa and an appetite suppressant.
I take 300 mg of Effexor, and i’ve found it to be wonderful for my depression. I have basically no side effects apart from keeping me up at night. Thankfully the ap’s help put me to sleep so it kind of counteracts the Effexor.
I’m on 75mg. I like it so far and it works well for me.
I had the same experience as @speedy.
I was put on it, because I was sad and frightened over a sad and frightening situation. I got weirdly indifferent on it. My MH worker blamed that on me being an insensitive person by nature…which is nonsense…because I was alway sensitive, and am again now.
Withdrawals were horrible. My mood was allover the place, as I did not experience before. And I got psychotic from that. Which was also not connected to the med.
I know others are helped. But I was harmed.
Sorry to hear that hugs. I guess it goes some folks can tolerate effexor meds being different with everyone.clozapine was the worst for me in antipsychs. I mean literally I could not stop passing out.
I’m on clozapine…it was ONLY med to finally stop my positive symptoms
But it’s caused other unwanted side effects now and I’m slowly decreasing dose.
This med really made you pass out? I feel like passing out sometimes, but never do thankfully
Yeah. It scared me. I hope it doesn’t do that to you.
I take it and it’s great for social and general anxiety, no side effects as far as i know.
