Anyone taking effexor?

I’m scared of taking it as I haven’t taken it in twenty years. I took it with an AP and couldn’t breathe. What are your experiences with effexor?

My experience with effexor was not good. It made me very tired. I slept and slept. It didn’t do anything for my panic attacks nor anxiety.

When I tried to quit the drug I got horrible withdrawals. Zaps in my head, I was hypersensitive to my bloodsugar, I started shaking, had dissociation and felt horrible for three months.

I don’t recommend effexor to anyone.

I don’t want to take it. I want to stay on Lexapro. I have not started taking it so I’ll just let him know I don’t want to take it. It was years ago but it was scary

Well I asked him to. I wanted amitriptyline but he wanted to try effexor. I’ve been more depressed than ever lately.

I’m sorry to hear that you are struggling.

Well, you could always try effexor for a couple of months. If it doesn’t work then talk to your doc.

If it hadn’t done what it did years ago I might not be so scared. You’re probably right. I should give it second chance. He told me to call him if I had any problems.

I have no noticable side effects from Effexor. Amitriptiline made me depressed every night after I took it.

Effexor did give me high blood pressure which is handled well with medicine.

Yeah pretty much. There’s quarks Lexapro has been a good med for me. Maybe my depression is just med intolerant.

It’s been very good for me. Only antidepressant that even cuts into my clinical depression. Mind you I got off it once and getting back on it made me have to take way more a dose for a long time. Gave me some ibs symptoms that were annoying at big dosage but I’ve recently come back down to 150 mgs and it has been working well.

There’s no other choice for me and it does the job.

Effexor XR has been very good for my social anxiety. My pdoc says it’s the best med for SA. Probably the best antidepressant that I have been on :+1:
