Hi! I am on venlafaxine which I think is the same thing. I too have a very positive experience with it. I am quite content all day with apparently no side effects.
Yeah. It’s the only ad that I’ve found that works for me. I’ve tried a lot of ssri’s to no avail. Also tried an older mao.
It’s great for me and I’m down this year from 300 mgs which I was on for years to 75. It’s been a work in progress but on large doses I got bad ibs symptoms but I learned to live with it simply because it works on my bad depression.
It’s got a pretty nasty withdrawal and on 300 mgs if I missed a dose I’d know about it the next day. Would give me horrible insomnia.
All in all though it’s helped me to better function and it works. My depression is way worse to me than those positive sytmptoms…well except for really bad paranoia.
I took Effexor for years, though that was a while ago. I was put on it in 2000, was on it for I think over ten years. It was a good drug for me, but it caused terrible heat intolerance. It was such a helpful drug for me that I put up with feeling so uncomfortably warm and sweaty, but eventually I couldn’t do it anymore. Now I’m on a combo of Wellbutrin and Cymbalta.
I was on effexor but didn’t like it. I was indifferent and mildly autistic on it. The withdrawals were horrible. It took three months of hell to quit it.
Doc told my friend that they are the Rolls Royce of happy pills. He was on them for anxiety and didn’t have any issues.
