Do antipsychotics cause anxiety

Hi everyone I am on Risperidone 6mg, clonazepam 1mg and sertraline 50 mg for schizophrenia, OCD and anxiety. I also take Propranolol 40 mg in the morning. Does long term use of antipsychotics like risperidone cause anxiety or it could be just that I suffer from anxiety and it is not the antipsychotic which is causing it. I am also going to discuss this with my pdoc. Just needed your opinion guys. Feel free to comment.

I’m on Invega and rarely get anxious. I used to struggle with it though.

I have years of antipsychotic medication and years of anxiety.

I should say in my case the only thing that helped was going for long walks. As soon as I started walking it got better.

My anxiety is currently as bad as it ever was. Many of my other symptoms are greatly improved.

Certain antipsychotics can trigger anxiety or make it worse.

A lot of the newer antipsychotics cause anxiety like Latuda and Vraylar.

Abilify triggers lots of anxiety in many people

Latuda gives me anxiety right after I take it (dinner time) .

It also gives me insomnia so I can sometimes be awake all night with anxiety and can’t seem to watch tv or anything but just lay there hour after hour feeling awful.

I don’t remember olanzapine giving me insomnia but it gave me 39 kg weight gain.

I am stable and well apart from anxiety and insomnia.

Going to ask my psychiatrist to give me medication for anxiety and insomnia.

Reckon I will stay on latuda.

I would try olanzapine again if it weren’t for the weight gain but since I’m stable and well on latuda I’ll stay on latuda and ask for medication for the anxiety and insomnia afternoons and nights.

I am also on Latuda and I got Precanalin for anxiety, and it works good. But I am taking it three times a day. I have ups and downs but the anxiety Is not bothering me anymore.
Hope you will find a good solution!

I had some anxious nights on latuda. I would try to take it right before going to sleep to try to avoid it.

I also had a little anxiety on risperidone and a little more on invega.

I’m taking clozapine currently and don’t get much anxiety on this one.

I’m not sure if the meds cause it.
