Diet starts now

Is a low fat, low sugar diet. No butter or milk. Lean meats. Pasta. No bread.

Feeling pretty positive about it.

Are you tracking your calories? That was what helped me the most. I didn’t totally cut any one thing out of my diet, but I severely limited several things. I am not a strong-willed person, so completely eliminating anything delicious would have been unsustainable for me. But by tracking my calories, I have managed to lose twenty pounds so far.

Yeah guys. Have ordered some kitchen scales so I can calculate my calorie intake. I basically have only healthy food in the flat. My problem is that I eat too much of it. Will count my calories.

Need the dietician to give me a calorie target that takes into account my starting weight. Once I get that I will be off!

Cool. Right my daily calorie allowance is 2540. That is much more than I thought i would be allowed. That is good. Just getting to know the app now.

I haven’t officially started my diet, but when I do start, I will include all food groups.

I will just use common sense approaches and eat smaller portions.

I will also include some form of movement like walking.

I calorie counted, and lost 44lb. Then I stopped and used my instincts to eat as an experiment and just gained weight.

I’m now back to calorie counting.

Right. Figuring out the app. Will have to work out calories for my regular meals. This will take some time. But the app remembers the meals right?

Good luck @Jimbob!

It remembers what foods you commonly eat together. If you cook your own food, you can also add recipes. It automatically calculates how many calories are in each serving of a food you make yourself. You just have to enter in the ingredients.

And you’re lucky. My calorie allowance is only 1460. Being a girl sucks.

From what I remember there’s a “My Food” section in the app. Populate that with your own meals. I think that’s how it works. I don’t use MFP, I use another calorie counting app so maybe I’m wrong.

Isn’t this a little low @Ninjastar?

Not for my height and weight. My BMR is only 1560. I add more calories when I exercise.
