Calorie counting

I’ve been trying to eye out my portion sizes. Ive lost a little bit of weight but its been super slow.

Starting today, i’m going to count my calories. I’m gonna aim for no more than 1500 calories a day.

Ive done that with intermittent fasting and lost 60lbs. I did gain it all back unfortunately. I did constantly think about food though during that diet, that was tough.

Why?

You should download a calorie counting app and get the correct amount of calories.

Also remember everytime you lose weight and weigh yourself you have to recalibrate how many calories you eat.

I’d be happy losing 60 pounds though I’m aiming for a 90 to 100 pound weight loss.

You can do “magic” with your body in 1.5 years no prob.

With magic I mean body recomp. Save 300-500 daily calories for a protein shake and work out a bit. You will look and feel way better once u shed excess fat.

No reason at all to not do both at the same time.

Be careful you don’t reduce your calories too much and cause yourself to go out of control with food. I had a lot more success losing weight on 1700 calories vs 1400 when I have tried in the past. Now of course for me it’s more tricky because I’m dealing with an ED. Basically all I am saying is be careful with restricting your calories too much, you don’t want to get unhealthy about weight loss. Slow sustainable weight loss is better than rapid weight loss that you can’t maintain.

I have a packet of oatmeal for breakfast and for lunch I have a few scrambled eggs or a bowl of zero point soup (veggie soup). Leaves me some room for supper and an evening snack.

I think the keys are measuring and accepting hunger. It’s not really possible to gain control over your diet without accepting hunger to a degree. I think most people are afraid of it. The moment they feel it they rush to food. But hunger is a part of life, we have to learn to accept or even appreciate it like the burn we get when we work out. Can feel good if we embrace it.

You also appreciate a good meal more if you’ve been hungry for a bit before having it.
