I use an antidepressant med that causes tiredness.

Sleep is important. For years I had horrible insomnia and racing thoughts. I’d have to drug myself to sleep on pot and used fans and white noise. When diagnosed I used xanax a benzo for a few years but had a gran mal after stopping it suddenly.

I no longer use sleep meds and sleep like a baby most nights. Zyprexa 10 mgs is all I need and exercise helps a lot as well.

I’ve been through just about everything, but am currently using CBD oil and, less often now, Ativan.

I have used all rx sleeping pills, only my 1mg of xanax a night makes me sleep for even.2 hours at a time. Even on Zyprexa I didn’t sleep that was 40mgs, seroquel 900mg, no sleep. I’d be tired, but like too tired to sleep, so I’d nod off driving sometimes. Not good for rural SD where I was living. I quit that ■■■■. It didn’t help with my symptoms anyway for sz, so was a waste.

I tried CBD oil, didn’t help either, and was expensive as all hell. Never been a drug user ever either. I’ve had shitty sleep all my life, so was a drinker in high school. I will in my desperate state if being over 5 days of no sleep I’ll have a cocktail. But, know yourself, no your best practices.

During my first psychotic break I couldn’t sleep. I think I went three days without a full nights rest. Since then I’ve been fine, in fact I’m wishing I could stay up later. The medicine has a sedative effect. So far I’ve been wrestling getting exactly how much I want out of my day and then deciding when I want to wind down.

I hope you guys find rest and something that works for you. If you have a racing mind, I would practice trying to slow down. I don’t know if its possible, some of you guys really get worked up. I think though that its at least something to work on to try and see if it bears any fruit for yal.

I literally think “in” with an intake of breath and “out” with the exhale, and if I’m having any trouble getting to rest, I first get as comfy as I can trying out the positions I like, and then I give this a go, and I’m out shortly after.

If you have backpain or any recurring pain problems look into specifics on how to best remedy those.

I have some as a prn but I haven’t taken one in a few months.

Yeah, I’ve always been wary of taking sleeping pills; I’ve heard too many stories of people who get addicted to them or overdose on them.

They never worked for me

I use sleeping pills when I’m having immense pain.

I use Seroquel/quetiapine, which had a very sedating effect on me

Here in the UK they only prescribe a weeks worth of sleeping pills cause they are very addictive. I have used them in the past. But never longer than a week.

I count ask them to my pdoc. I sometimes need a sleeping pill in order to have a good regimen like not sleeping in the day, but in the night. I am on 10 mgs of Zyprexa, but its still not enough to put me in sleep. Well, I am quite passive in the day, which is not helping, so like you, I guess its smth temporary while living with the hope to get more active in the future and have no need for sleeping pills…

TRIGGER WARNING

ii have used them once and that was with the attemt to end it

I’ve always used something to help me sleep even if it was just Benadryl. But for many years I used that and many years I used Ativan and now I use my Saphris.

I have to take trazadone every night to help me sleep. Taking clozapine at night also helps.
