I had negative symptoms but not cognitive symptoms.
I voted no. I was quite motivated. I was a bit spacey (inattentive) and i slept in a lot but i think thats pretty normal.
I’ve always had executive functioning problems, especially when it comes to organising and planning. According to a pdoc I interact with on Twitter I have a non global impairment.
I did. I was in college at the time, and was barely managing.
Yes. I used to be a straight A student. My illness started at 12 years old, which was the beginning of middle school. In middle school, my grades started going down. I couldn’t keep up with the class.
In highschool, my grades kept declining. I couldn’t keep up, my memory was starting to suffer, and I couldn’t process spoken lectures. In 11th grade I dropped out near the end of the school year (there are 12 grades, total).
I got my GED (equivalent of a HS diploma), a couple of years later.
I didn’t get diagnosed with schizoaffective until I was 23. My cognitive functioning has gotten worse, as time went on. But I hope that it improves, someday.
You seem very intelligent. But it does help to keep mentally active with brain puzzles and games for a few minutes each day. Not long. Just a few minutes here and there keeps the brain active.
I had some negative symptoms before SZA
Oh, thank you. You’re very kind.
That reminds me, my dad recently got me a word search puzzle book. I could try to do a puzzle each day.
Yah, there’s puzzles of all kinds out there. Five minutes here and there are good distractions and activate thinking. It will make a difference over time. You got this.
