Decreasing risperidone

Saw my psychiatrist today.
I told her that I spend most of my time on the couch and I am starting to slur my words.
She decided to lower my risperidone from 4mg to 3mg.
No touching the Depakote.
Hopefully I’ll have more energy.

That’s how I’m going to take it.
1mg in the morning, 2mg at night.

I like it that way, keeps me calm through out the day. I get tired but I can handle it. Also had some weight gain but can handle that (run more) as well. Benefits out weigh the side effects for me.

Happy to hear risperidone is working for you @Schizooilguy.
It’s been a lifesaver for me.

@Wave good to hear it’s working for you as well. Just hoping I don’t get the tittie side effect

Haven’t had that problem yet - not in a significant way at least.

That’s good then…

lol I wouldn’t mind my boobies growing from risperidone! It has also been a life saver for me. It’s the first antipsychotic I’ve been on and I feel back to my normal self realizing how deluded I was without meds.

Lol, higher doses causes prolactin increases so boobies also can lactate too(another side effect from elevated prolactin levels).
