Curious as to what people's visual hallucinations are?

What do you see? Do you see stuff everyday? Does it bother you anymore?

When I’m not psychotic, mundane things like a person where there’s not or something like that. When I’m psychotic and off my meds the hallucinations can be quite vibrant and florid, like supernatural creatures and UFOs.

First of all, it scares the â– â– â– â–  out of me. I have never gotten used to it.

I generally see what I call shadow people. It’s like seeing a shadow, but it moves. And sometimes I hear voices at the same time.

I saw blood come out from the wall and surrounded everywhere. Like i am living in a bloody hell. It’s really scary. But i no longer have visual hallucination now…

That reminds me of when I was in the hospital and saw eyes all over the walls.

I see shadows. I’ve seen a huge dragon. I’ve seen a dog and my guardian angel. Also breathing walls.

I think with our combined experiences, we could write one heck of a horror movie.

The daily ones are pretty mundane for me now…

picture a rippled water surface… now picture that on every solid object like a table top, the floor, a fork…
Sometimes furniture breaths… expands and contracts
people show up out of the corner of my eye
For a long time I had a floating cat

when things are getting bad… I picture every thing on fire…
Then there are more frightening looking people or shadows closing in.

Not medicated I saw shadows hanging besides people, gave me panic attacks, I saw beings of light that I thought was either angels or aliens, spirit animals, I saw fractals in the clouds, I saw sweaters patterns swirl… Once I saw life like a 2d photograph it was really weird that one

I see beings from the world without color. Portals to there as well

I had dejavu and optical illusions but never visual hallucinations.

I got lucky here. I rarely see anything and, when I do, it’s pretty neutral. My psychiatrist voiced the opinion that the illusions are due to my prior LSD use, an after effect made worse by the schizophrenia, rather than the illness itself because schizophrenia induced illusions are typically so nightmarish.

I see and feel my companion angel on my right side, just behind and pressing at my shoulder. I can see “him” in my peripheral view, but clearly. I see dark creatures crawling or slithering low on the floor. Those ones still bother me. I identify them as demons and they laugh and I “rebuke” them. I see shadow figures walking past me or around by me. Then, I just see bugs crawling on me and/or on the walls and things. I have to check and look closely to see if they’re real, or ignore them. Inanimate objects appear to be moving; either vibrating or short jerky movements, or sometimes small things will start to wiggle and crawl. I used to think I could see the atoms of everything moving. Sometimes things get so bright I have to close my eyes. I can’t remember any other way of being, so it feels "normal " to me.

Mine are mostly audio, but if I don’t get enough sleep, I have been known to see shadows take lives of there own

I have seen bags breathing. TV cables walking and attaching itself to the TV set. Solid bands of light moving. I have read some sections of a book i cannot find at a later time but i remember the content and location. All of the related content are absent but I’m so certain I read them there. The knowledge are really useful and I can’t find them anywhere else. I actually can’t decide if they are visual hallucinations. Only that I cant say they are logical.

Mine are mainly harmless. People and cats in my periphery, flashing lights, black holes lined in electric blue, spinning pinwheels of light and dark, pulsating shadows over my entire field of vision, lightning flashes, multicolored starbursts, fields of inappropriate colors, liquids dripping down my extreme periphery, walls breathing, floors undulating.

I have some closed eye hallucinations, too - generally just colorful fractals or lava lampy movement, but sometimes really intricate cartoon movies, and sometimes what seems like a bright spotlight shining in my eyes.

Mostly they don’t trouble me at all, but I dislike the liquids, the pinwheels, and the spotlight quite a lot :smile_cat:

Mine are typically demonic in nature, when I’m psychotic I see a demonic intelligence in people’s eyes and if I stare long enough their eyes begin to change shape and color. Unfortunately I see this in my wife and children as well so it makes it hard to keep up a regular conversation.

I’ve seen one very vivid demon wearing antiquated clothing and carrying something behind it: that one scared he hell out of me. I’ve also seen shadow “people”, had one slip beneath my car while I was driving and then they started appearing in doorways until I got home.

And of course when this is happening I’m paranoid as hell. Not very pleasant.

I see shadowy figures in my room. One in particular has some facial features, and I see him a lot. I draw pictures of him, and a some times he wears a hat and smokes a cigarette, and his cigarettes smell weird. Sometimes people’s faces look strange when I talk to them, and I get really frightened and stare at them. I can’t really explain the way they look, but they just aren’t right.
I also see figures in the mirror, sometimes. They are very much like ghosts, and they talk to me and they want my eyes.
Some things I refuse to believe are even hallucinations, but my therapist says they are.

Moving surfaces happens rather often. Seeing people talking about me happens rather often too. Seeing silhouettes in the dark at night for half a second happens just about every night.

Most of the visuals are subtle- like slightly moving surfaces or seeing people stare at me- less often, much less often do people with scz see bizarre and grossly implausible things like rooms full of people who don’t exist- but, now, but- some of us do see things like that. It’s just uncommon amongst scz afflicted individuals. We mostly have subtle ones like a person giving us a rude gesture or someone saying something odd.
