Could this be a delusion?

It’s important to note I believe I am in remission as episodes are far less often.
I still hold a belief that Dr pepper is alien juice.
However recently I have getting paranoid that my microwave is leaking radiation and will harm me or my animals if i get near it.
I truly believe it, but it sounds reasonable so I’m not sure.

Many times us schizophrenics will take a normal fear that everyone else has, but take it to the nth degree. There’s quite often a grain of truth to our delusions, but we drive the train off of the rails with our overthinking.

I never stand too close to the microwave either…and Dr. Pepper is just caffeinated soda. So don’t fret.

Dr Pepper definitely isn’t alien juice, it’s full of crap but all from this world, so that’s definitely a delusional thought. You won’t be harmed by your microwave, I have a similar fear but I think it’s more of a common fear than a delusion, although depending on how strong your belief is it could be I guess. But they don’t leak radiation, so you are safe.

I often fear that I shouldn’t breathe when walking behind other people because I’ll breathe in their recycled air and or other gases that will make me ill. That and if I follow behind them for too long getting to different places that they’ll believe I’m following them.

I have some fears about my microwave leaving radiation, too. I think this is one of those things that used to be true, but isn’t anymore. Unless your microwave was made in the 70s, it has shielding to prevent any radiation exposure. If it helps, my husband has to undergo regular radiation testing for his job, and he never shows elevated radiation levels, despite using the microwave frequently.

A microwave only emits radiation when active. Otherwise they are designed to be near perfectly shielded…

There is background electromagnetic radiation of all kinds by default in the universe. You aren’t being exposed to anything beyond natural levels of radiation due to your microwave.

"Microwave safety: The design of microwave ovens ensures that the microwaves are contained within the oven and can only be present when the oven is switched on and the door is shut. Leakage around and through the glass door is limited by design to a level well below that recommended by international standards. However, microwave leakage could still occur around damaged, dirty or modified microwave ovens. It is therefore important that the oven is maintained in good condition. Users should check that the door closes properly and that the safety interlock devices, fitted to the door to prevent microwaves from being generated while it is open, work correctly. The door seals should be kept clean and there should be no visible signs of damage to the seals or the outer casing of the oven. If any faults are found or parts of the oven are damaged, it should not be used until it has been repaired by an appropriately qualified service engineer. "

Food cooked in a microwave is bad for you. you can read about it from Kevin Treudeau

It is not, you can read about it from every scientific authority.
