Considering quitting all caffeine... but there's a problem

I want to quit caffeine. Maybe I can have more stable energy and also sleep better. I sleep about 12 hours so when I have coffee when I wake up, there will still be caffeine in my system when going to bed.

But there’s a problem.

If I say I want to quit caffeine today, there’s a high chance that I will wake up tomorrow and say “fack it, I need my caffeine, I don’t want to quit”.

Can anyone help me get past this?

I think you need some willpower to get over withdrawals. After a couple of days you’ll be fine.

How much coffee do you drink?

I brew 0.5L coffee every morning, and I also have a coke which has caffeine.

I think you can limit yourself to only 1 coffe in the morning (skip the coke). I have it more difficult (not that I want to quit anyways) because I drink regularly until 3:00 pm or so.

Since I drink nescafe, I would gradually put less and less powder…

If you like enjoying a cup in the morning you could try decaf. Decaf powder coffee is sold in regular supermarkets in Norway. It tastes pretty much like ordinary coffee.

Talking about decaf… @Mr_Hope . I once spend like 2 months buying the wrong (decaf) type of coffee so I unoficially quit.

Yeah I actually have some decaf coffee laying around. But I think I’m not even gonna drink that, since it has small amounts of caffeine in it, I want to quit it 100%.

Yes. There might be some traces left after the decaf process, probably something in the range of 1-5% compared to regular coffee.

I quit caffeine for about 8 months. I found more benefits to having caffeine than going caffeine free. It doesnt affect my sleep though.
I think I have between 300 to 500mg caffeine per day.

So for me quitting caffeine didnt help my energy levels. I was calmer but I was lower in energy.

All those articles about “caffeine is making you tired yada yada” is for people with normal brains lol
