Question about coffee!

Hey guys,

So I’ve been off caffeine for about 3 weeks now, and I’m getting serious urges to go back on it.

Like, just started getting bad cravings 4 it.

What should I do ? Should I ride it out or try a small dose ?

Any advice is appreciated.

I used to drink 5-10 coffees a day. Was an addict. Then I quit cold turkey for 2 months. Now I’m back to drinking 2 coffees in the morning. That is what works for me best.

I was never addicted to coffee. I switched from coffee to caffeine pills cold turkey.

If you’re gonna do it you definitely should do a small dose regardless. Coffee can be an intense drug. If you have no tolerance like you do now. A big dose would give you a panic attack just possibly. Well it would to me.

I should speak for myself. Man what I’d do for my first coffee after a couple weeks off. But it’s hard to quit a drug that’s addictive, as well as so benign.

It kind of depends on your reasons for quitting. Were you having problems with coffee? If you were having problems, then no, don’t have any. If you just quit to get the amount down to reasonable, then yes, have 1 cup, and watch to make sure you don’t let it sneak back up on you.

Just drink decaff. That’ll help you get over the urges.

If I decide to have caffeine I go out to a coffee shop. If I buy a tub of it I will drink the whole thing and get addicted. I have tubs of decaf coffee and that is enough for me on good days.

I think @Leaf gave good advice.

I buy k-cup pods for my Keurig coffee maker. So, I just make one cup at a time. Back when I had a regular coffee pot, I was making like 3 cups per day. It’s easier to limit myself when I only make 1 cup at a time, now.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I decided to take a 200mg caffeine pill (just pure caffeine) cuz my mood was pretty bad and I had some constipation (for about a couple days now)

i tried to quit coffee, but decided my life is better with it. so instead of quitting altogether i drink 1 big cup each morning. it’s nice relaxing way to wake up and slowly get into my day. i don’t overdue it anymore though, usually just 1 cup a day now.
