Coffee is making my life a misery ☕

I’ve been abusing it since I was 15 years old. Since my first red bull.

Maybe quitting or reducing your intake helps you then…I hope it does! Good that you started that.

The only problem I have with coffee is that it keeps me up at night if I drink it too late in the day.

maybe try implementing decaf coffee you’d be surprised how easy it is to trick the brain. plus it has slightly enough caffeine that if u drink 3-4 cups youll feel like u drank almost 1. just dont drink 5 times as much just because its decaf

It’s great that you’re feeling less anxious. Yes, some people are reporting many months of recovery at that subreddit. But it seems like it’s different for many people. I’m almost down to zero after a two week weaning off, and I already feel better than I did when drinking caffeine. So doesn’t mean it will take months for all people to feel better.(edit: I didn’t drink much though, just one strong cup of coffee and a green tea)

I think of it this way - we didn’t evolve to be reliant on a stimulant to be happy and motivated, our bodies can function very well without it. And I also think about when I was a kid/teenager and didn’t consume caffeine (except for the occasional soda), and I was very happy. So I see no reason why I can’t be happy without it now as well.

If you keep drinking coffee you will build up a tolerance for coffee. I’ve drank so much coffee that I don’t feel it when I don’t get it. When I was in the army, over forty years ago, I would drink three cups of coffee for breakfast and then daydream the morning away in the motor pool, but in the evenings I would be really depressed. I was drinking 8 - 9 cups a day.
