Anyone have any luck giving up caffeine?

Some times I feel like I want to crawl out of my skin. I do drink coffee until noon. It’s always been some that kinda keeps my butt from dragging. Was debating if I should up my Zoloft or quit the coffee. Really like my coffee.

I have cut down on coffee. One cup in the morning. But I will never quit. It’d be easier for me to quit nicotine I think. But that’s just me. Ihave a strong affliction with coffee. Don’t get me wrong, I’m hooked on nicotine too but it took like seven years until the physical addiction took over. Before it was just mental. coffee only took a year until I was physically addicted, so I figure I’m deeper in that addiction than nicotine.

I have a bigger issue with nicotine myself. The thing is you’ve built up a tolerance to caffeine or a better way of putting it is, caffeine has become a piece of your physiological puzzle. If you want to cut back or quit either go cold turkey or try to taper yourself. But removing the substance from your body will throw you off until the body adjusts to the new quantity your shoving into yourself. Normally adding another or substitute substance makes up for the loss of the other chemicals. Like people smoking less cigarettes because of smoking more weed or people craving alcohol less because of eating more sugar. Your body will always try and find balance no matter what you do or don’t put into it, its only job is to keep u in this reality for as long as possible. In short if you want to cut back or quit just be full knowing that you will withdraw and it also doesn’t hurt knowing the symptoms of withdrawal of the substance ur trying to withdraw from. Just be knowledgable of what you put into your body and you’ll be cool. Everything is slowly killing us anyway so nothing is really that terrible for you in a sense. Yea drinking gasoline would probably be excrutiating but everything has an end. Sorry that got a little hippy dippy

But even having a grande at starbucks makes me experience the same skin crawling feeling

Yes, I quit spiking the house decaf coffee with regular instant about a month ago. Doing ok with it. I’ll have a cup of regular as a special treat when I go out sometimes. I also quit smoking a year ago.

It stops me on it’s own, can’t drink much of it or I get real cold and the shakes

Drinking coffee makes me stay up later, which in turn makes me a little psychotic.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Don’t take my liquid gold away from me!

I think recommended a day is 2 cups in USA, 5 in Oz. I say cut down and do leave yourself some luxuries in life.

I go from periods of drinking iced tea or coffee daily to week or two without it because it really burns me out and makes my mind a bit frazzled.

I tried no caffeine for like a year and tbh I was pretty miserable because of the sedation of my antipsychotics. There definitely can and should be a balance and not an addiction that gets out of control.

No luck so far. I drink coffee all day long and I barely eat…
I feel very addicted.

I don’t want to give up coffee. I take just 2 cups a day though.

I got an expresso machine for my birthday and I just drink one mug of that and i’m wide awake ready to face the day. I think though I have tried to give up caffeine and it was a disaster. I had migraines all the time I was lethargic and I slept all day. my mom somehow gave up caffeine, cigs and weed all at the same time.
