Hi guys, I need some guidance on abilify and invega. I’ve heard good things about abilify and how it doesn’t block dopamine receptors and instead just regulates it. How do you feel about abilify/invega and what can I expect from it? I’m a veteran and will have to be in the VA hospital for at least a month while Im changing meds. I want to be certain that abilify or invega is the med for me to go long term.
I’m on fluphenazine and it’s making me angry and I’ve been having suicidal thoughts, and I’ve been lieing as well, which isn’t who I am. I’ve never been angry(even on other meds) and this med makes me that way. Is abolify or invega a good drug to have going into the med change? What are the pros and cons of the drug? I haven’t been on abilify but I have been on Invega. Invega worked well for me, good med in my opinion. I’m a veteran myself and use the VA for my care and meds,They have some good psychiatrists they will steer you right.
Abilify didn’t prove very effective for me, it also gained a lot of weight for me. But risperdal helped more, until it didn’t. Risperdal is very close to invega, however, invega is usually an injection.
But all these medications can be effective for different people. You just gotta keep trying them.
Geodone made me a very angry man as well so I’ll recommend you to get of the flufenazin. no one deserves to be that angry that I was on the Geodon. I got off the geodon almost one year ago and my life has really changed to the better.
I’m switching to abilify now from zyprexa. I have just started the switch and am on 5mg zyprexa 5mg abilify. It’s been about a week and I can say that I feel better than I did on only 7.5mg zyprexa alone, at least so far… Good luck with the switch.
I had invega before but with invega i had a little hungry than abilify that IS my actual Antipsychotic.
I have more energy also with abilify than invega.
