Cant sleep....what kind of sleep med would help?

I have a doc who respects my opinion on pills. I have real insomnia nightmare. If i get out of sleep cycle because i went out partying till 5am one night i cant fall asleep till 6 am every night. I need a strong sleep med…something that would knock me out. I tryed taking allegy med cause it has antihistamine in it thats also in some sleepmeds and it worked alittle.

I use zopiclone 7.5 mg. Worked great for a year or so but my body is getting too used to it now.

Have you ever been tried on Seroquel? I was just posting on another thread about how I couldn’t sleep on it, but most people say it knocks them out.

Try zolpidem or ambein …!!!

I don’t want to be doctor but alot of times benadryl helps.

Benadryl has antihistamine in it…i think i wanna try that.

didn’t you say you already took an anti-histamine? be careful jeeze - you can call the Pharmasist

I take Klonopin for insomnia.

I tried doxipen and ambien. They both work to some extent for me. My problem is early wake-up, then can’t get back to sleep. Most sleep meds don’t work too well for this.

You also need to keep good sleep hygiene. Go to bed at the same time each night, do something calm for 30min before bed, only put on dim lights when using the bathroom at night, etc.

I’m looking for a sleep med too. Seroquel knocks me out completely but I gained too much weight on it. I’m going to ask for ambien.

Hi gal …i was on ambein for short period of time…yes it is helpful. .u can try it…

Trazodone works well for me

I’ve been on trazodone, don’t really remember how it worked, vistaril, worked great but lost effectiveness, and now clonidine, which affects my blood pressure a lot and makes me groggy

Serequel is quite strong in small doses too , please talk to your pdoc about your options.

I used seroquil for sleep worked great.

My sleep had gotten better though so I don’t use anything for sleep anymore

I take trazadone 300 mg…some can fall asleep on 50 mg or 100 mg…good luck.
