Can't sit still and concentrate on doing something

I can’t remain seated. Have huge anhedonia and anxiety. Can’t remain in one place just reading a book or watching a tv show. That’s not normal.

Try burning the anxiety energy off with exercise - I have an exercise bike that works a treat with it.

Writing your thoughts down on paper work well too…I can’t emphasise how helpful keeping a journal has helped me. Varies with me though if writing by hand or typing is bettter for me.

Talking - A great way to get the thoughts out and get focus again. Ring a friend, family member. Counselling lines work sometimes as more trained to get us to open up more.

Try some relaxing music. Are tons on youtube if you don’t have any.

Cut out the caffeine for awhile also.

Hope it helps.

I get like that too, what I do is exercise excessively. I look like a beast because of it. I also eat a ton of protein.

Sounds like you are agitated. Benzo time.

i get tons of anxiety, i also take a benzo. part of the reason i get so anxious is a drink a lot of coffee but that’s because of sedation from meds.

I caved in and had half a cigarette. It helped with the anxiety but I can’t start smoking again. I just quit.

Just giving up smokes would do it for me. The anxiety plus the anhedonia that is. Try breathing exercises for anxiety. Much the same as taking a drag from a smoke. Breathe in for a few seconds slowly. Hold for a few seconds and breathe out for a few seconds slowly.

Sip icy cold water slowly helps also.

Find something to do with your hands as well.

Thanks for the advice @Dreamscape.
I will try that the next time I feel like I’m going to explode.

Probably this is nicotine withdrawal yet. I don’t know… but the speed at witch I calmed down after the smoke was faster than anything. And better than an anxiety pill. But for health reasons, for money reasons too I can’t smoke.

Are You Taking Haldol (?)

I’m taking Xeplion - in Europe - , that’s Invega Sustenna - in US -.

Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking is worth a read.
Pdoc and gp may be able to help also.

My appointment with pdoc is next month on the 5th. I’ll have to wait with all this anxiety and anhedonia hovering over me.

Restlessness often called tardive dyskinesia (spelling?) may pass for the most part throughout the body, it sucks when we’re twitchy in public places. Over time it seems to slow to shaky leg or breathing.

To me it’s sounds like akathisia rather than TD. TD is usually the result of years of AP use (although this is sometimes not the case). TD can be permanent - akathisia is not and there are drugs that can help it.

Only a doctor can tell you what it is for sure.

This is just Huge Anxiety. Not Akathisia and definitely not TD,

Have you talked to your doctor about this?

Get the anxiety treated - medications and CBT therapy.

Exercise is good - plan daily walks with a friend.

Supplements may also help:

We do have new sections covering many of the more researched nutritional supplements that seem to help with schizophrenia:

I’ll talk about all my issues in the next appointment.

I recommend you print this document out and review it before your doctor meetings, and take the paper with you:

I’ve already fill it out.

I like this theory a lot. (Pushing his chips out onto the game table.) And Invega paliperidone hasn’t gotten much of a rep for what you describe over here. Talk to your doc about a low dose of Wellbutrin buproprion maybe? Not sure.
