If you dont mind me asking, what do you do for anxiety

I have been having severe anxiety for months. The ssri’s/snri’s aren’t working and my doctor won’t put me on a benzo with a longer half life. Anything helps

Honestly, I do a lot of things. A lot of my anxiety comes from energy drinks and possibly cigarettes. I self medicate.

I also masturbate lol…I guess it helps but I heard NoFap has its benefits…

Walking, drinking water, taking the right meds, etc. All helps.

Helping others and keeping busy is important.

I just put up with it as I don’t want any more meds.

Taking L-theanine makes it just about manageable.

My problem is it has gotten so bad I’ve had to take leave from work, and I have bills to pay so I can’t really put up with it, even when it is this severe

I don’t like benzos. There are many alternatives out there…goodluck.

I’ll have a beer like every few months to relax or I’ll buy the neurobliss with l theanine in it to relax.

L-theanine is just a supplement. They probably won’t know much about it.

Look up Ashwagandha it is an adaptogen. If your anxiety is high, it lowers it and vice versa.

I do breathing exercises and self-hypnosis… I’ve been seeing a psychologist for OCD related anxiety, and I’m getting better at applying the techniques. If I have a negative thought/image, I visualise it on a blackboard in my mind, then dissolve it, and replace it with a positive thought/image. There are lots of techniques for reducing anxiety, try looking online, the techniques do help with practice.

Workout as much as you can. It will relieve tension, make your body physically tired in a good way, and flood your brain with endorphins.

I take CBD oil 15 mg capsules once a day. The capsules have powdered CBD. I also meditate and do yoga everyday. I also listen to classical music and play piano.

Okay actually I struggle a LOT with anxiety and am on an SSRI for it (which sort of helps) but I do Headspace, have you heard of that? It’s so great. It’s a mindfulness/meditation app that helps me a LOT. So I don’t know if you were just looking for med solutions, but honestly try that app if you want!

I take propranolol for anxiety. It’s a beta blocker that blocks the action of adrenalin.

Therapy techniques help me the most with anxiety, but also a few meds that helps and they are: celexa, hydroxine, and l-theanine.
