My doctor told me Olanzapine is even worse than Clozapine as regards to weight gain. Not sure what the research says as I haven’t read it.
By the way, I never ate more than normal on Olanzapine. I used to eat more on Latuda and gained weight on Latuda as a result of eating excessively, but Olanzapine is a different type of medication, it probably kills the metabolism. Anyway, I think if you want to persist with it, and see if you don’t gain weight, it is worth a shot.
I take 15 mg Olanzapin: 85 kg 191 cm, no weight problems.
With clozapin: 111 kg.
I’ve been on both, just forgot if I gained weight on 5mg Zyprexa
On 10 mg I gained 12kg in two months…
yeah, me too. Dose matters. I did manage to lose about 12-13kgs at one point even on 10mg. but that involved starving myself a little eating only half portions of what I normally would eat plus going jogging at least 2 times a week.
