Can’t sleep again

Hey, everyone. Small rant. I’m feeling really fed up with my situation right now. I’ve been struggling with sleep for a while, but now I’ve run out of my medication and I can’t afford to buy more. (Getting more isn’t possible unless I ask my equally poor parents for money which I will not do.) I’m having nightmares that are keeping me up at night, and it’s really starting to take a toll on me. Lack of sleep makes psychosis worse for me. I was doing so well when I had it. Now I’m not sure what to do, but I’m hoping that someone here might have some advice for me. I know I know, step 1 is getting off my phone.

Thanks.

I don’t have advice but I empathize.

I woke up at midnight tonight and was able to sleep from 2 am to 3:30 am.

My sleep is all over the place.

I’m glad to not be alone in this. Had a nightmare about being trapped in my flooded basement. It was scary enough to wake me and now I’m just up. I’ve gotta be awake early for work.

It’s not a good feeling. I’m sorry you know that feeling.

I hope you’re able to get some good rest in soon.

Nightmares can upset me as well.

I’m always affected by my dreams. It’s the way my brain works.

I hope you can manage at work.

Do you work full-time or part-time?

I’m so affected by dreams. It sucks.

Thank you. I work part time.

I havent been able to get good sleep lately either. I take trazadone which usually helps keep me asleep, but lately ive been waking up between 3 and 4 (2:30 tonight tho) and staying up for a couple of hours. I was having a hard time getting to sleep too, but melatonin has been helping me with that. I just wish it kept me asleep. Not sleeping definitely makes my symptoms worse. My psychosis, anxiety, paranoia, etc. It all spirals. Which in turn causes more nightmares. Its a vicious cycle

Try with Melatonin. It is available without a prescription in pharmacies. Helps regulate the circadian rhythm. And it is produced by the brain, it is not something natural.

I am cooonstantly stuck in that awful cycle. I’m hoping this doesn’t last as long as it did last time. I was going months without proper sleep. I’m sorry you’re dealing with the same thing. I have the same issue with melatonin. Maybe I will try taking more when I wake up in the middle of the night.

I wish I could do trazadone. I sleep great on it but I can’t function like a human in my waking hours. It turns me into a zombie. Does it have any ill effects on you?

I quite like melatonin to get me asleep but unfortunately it doesn’t keep me asleep. I think tonight I’m going to try taking more when I wake up in the middle of the night and see what happens. Won’t matter too much if I’m groggy the next day since I don’t have to work.

Can you afford your med using GoodRx? I get great deals on it.You can scroll down to look at the cost with a coupon at all your different local pharmacies. My husband gets generic Lunesta at Walmart for $14/month!

The maximum dose is 9mg. Do not take more than that because it can hurt you.

VERY good to know. I could eat 100 of those gummies they’re so tasty haha. Will not over do it though.

Nope. We’re pretty tight this month and presumably next month too:( I’ll keep good rx in mind for the future when SO has a solid job.

That’s interesting. Maybe I’ll try trazadone again. I hate waking up groggy especially if I have to work.
