I want to know if it is good or bad to meditate when one is suffering from schizophrenic disorder?
To me it makes my symptoms worse, ie more voices. Some claim it helps.
I had done body mind relaxation, by making it a repetitive task everyday.
While at work was a real good results.
Meditation can make things worse for those suffering with a psychotic disorder.
I know it makes me worse.
Meditation in yoga makes me fearful I think linked to traumatic experiences. But the practical side I enjoy. As its a form of meditation. There’s also walking meditation which is good to do. Its centred on mindfullness. I tried buddhist meditation and that was very different. I loved it. Was very freeing and centered my mind. But i’m not currently diagnosed with schizophrenia. I’ve experienced a lot of psychosis though. In ten years.
I’m supposed to be suffering?
Whoops.
I can’t do it. For some reason, it triggers my psychosis.
I have used “light” meditation like mindfulness. It was very effective agains my anxiety and i still use if i have a panic attack even i don’t meditate any longer. If you once learned “the trick” it is very effective against anxiety, but not depression
