I lost about 15kg (30 pounds) by calorie counting. I calorie count everyday to make sure I don’t put it back on.

Just download a calorie counter app. There’s 100s of them

I use this app

The interface is a bit complicated but it’s fast when you get used to it.

Yes. This is how i always lost weight. I usually set my limit for 1100 to 1200 a day. I know thats pretty low limit but that’s cause im 5’4” and dont have much to lose and im not that active.

I’m currently down 123 lbs. (55.8 kg) from calorie counting. I use the free version of my fitness pal.

Are you male or female? How many calories do you consume?

I don’t like to answer those questions because my situation is likely different to yours, and yours is different to anyone else’s as theirs are different to everyone else’s. What I’m saying is that we should all work with a specialist or try to figure out what works best for us as individuals. I recommend anyone who is looking to lose weight or change their diet to work with a registered dietitian or the equal in their country. Most insurance will pay for it, even my crappy insurance did. They will guide you to your specific calorie and nutritional goals.

Don’t go to a random nutritionist, because I can take a two week course and call myself a nutritionist, but I recommend working with someone who is registered as a dietician.

I used to calorie count. It helps.

I don’t think it’s a good long term strategy.

I find it adds to stress and stress = cortisol and cortisol is what actually contributes to weight gain.

Even exercise if its stressful causes weight gain.

Best to take it easy on yourself.

I just started My Fitness Pal. I have lost 7 pounds. I exercise most days which gives me a few more calories. I do the free version. Different things work for different people.

Calorie counting was a huge downward spiral for me I kept restricting more and more for results at my worst I was down to, on average, 500 calories a day.

So I just advise caution if you do. And if you notice yourself obsessing over it please talk to a doctor or therapist.
