Breathing still the same hasnt improved much any

Its been since Oct 7th and I am still so sick took me over an hour to catch a good deep breath scared to lie down to go to sleep at night afraid I may not catch my breath or wake up my heart races when I cant catch my breath the only one who can help me is God I been to every dr there is and noone knows whats causing my shortness of breath and breathing difficulties been to the er what a waste of .my time and their time that was apparently being not able to catch my breath isnt serious enough to go to the er the er dr kept telling me that I wasnt dying and people only come there when they are dying or close to it or having a heart attack or stroke I wont be back to the er ever again I guess Im on my own my o2 sat in in the upper 90s to 99 percent he the er dr thought it could be anxiety causing my shortness of breath but I dont feel like thats it Im pretty much been calm maybe panicky alot since I cant catch my breath but if I can catch my breath at some point I can relax a little but still I panic when theae breathing issues happen.I feel like There is no dr that knows whats going on or they just brush it off as just being anxiety some of it might be but there has to be something else serious wrong that the dr isnt finding out thats what I think I cant go on like this this is becoming frustrating and making me very irritable I mostly hang out in my bedroom avoiding everyone except my two fur babies who are with me now my mom and dad want me to spend more time with them but all I can do is usually pace the floor to try to get a breath of air and sometimes that doesnt even help need prayers and a miracle also have extremely severe obstructive and just recently diagnosed with central sleep apnea as well

Keep hassling the doctors until they get to the bottom of it. That’s what I’d do.

Im about to give up on drs they seem to either brush me off like this isnt seriuos like it could be I have had alot of labs drawn when I went to the er and they drew to see if I had any blood clots in my lungs which was negative all other labs they thought were the cause of my breathing issues are were negative or normal their just as puzzled as I am on whatever this is Imy guess is it is some type of lung infection my chest doesnt hurt for it to be my heart and the er dr listened to heart and lungs he said they sounded good and that my lings were clear also it could be because Im anemic as well and that can cause breathing issues too and at one time my red blood cells were on the low side also csn cause breathing issues I also have an Iron deficiency and possubly my body doesnt absorb iron efficently these are just my guesses though or cpuld be a combo of all these things wrong with me causing my breathing issues

Did you tell them that you suspect it might have been the CPAP machine that’s causing your illness?

Are you taking antipsychotics? I had breathing issues when I went off them.

Iron deficiency can cause shortness of breath that does not come with chest pain or low o2. It sucks.

All I know is when I went off meds I was having breathing problems and was thinking I was being gassed at times.

You see what happens to most people when they go off their meds, right?

I don’t know what to say if going off meds is actually helping your breathing but it’s still a dangerous choice.

You need to ask for a pulmonary function test…that will help diagnose if it’s a lung issue. When i was on clozapine i got shortness of breath that was really an inability to take a deep breath…they told me it was panic attacks but when i got off the clozapine it went away, so i don’t really know what it was. But, yeah, ask for the PFT…

I may have made a huge mistake going off all my meds not just my psych meds but all of them that I take which is only eight pills Metformin 500mg twice a day Metoprolol25mg twice a day Abilify10mg and Lexapro20mg once at bedtime Triamterine25 mg maybe I should start back on them, but I dread it because of side effects from some if not all of them

You need to talk to a doctor before slamming a pile of meds now. Let them know what problems you had, why you went off meds, and get guidance for going back on them. Some may need to be gradually ramped back up. I am not a doctor, but I have made myself very ill in the past by stopping and restarting meds on my own without medical supervision. It’s a very bad idea.

I wish you the best with sorting this, I realize how hellish it is when you can’t get air.

Had several pulmonary function tests one as early as last year it was even normal didn’t show any issues, I felt I was about to pass out doing the breathing test but otherwise I was able to finish it

thanks, it is hell when I can’t get any air hardly at all have to yawn every few minutes to get any kind of air earlier this afternoon I thought I was never going to catch my breath but an hour and a half later I finally caught my breath I know I am not dying but it feels like I am when I can’t breathe normally. Will tell my psych Nurse Practitioner all this when I see her, I see her not very far from now I see her Dec 9th 2024

Do you have access to supplmental oxygen @psychward101? It’s really helpful for me when I overdo it and need help repaying the “oxygen debt” I accrued.

A relapse is worse than side effects in my book. Hopefully, you’ve only been off metformin and metoprolol a short while and can go back on before it hurts your health. I know you’re a grown adult but it’s poor decision making skills to go off prescribed medication. I’ll take the weight gain and fatigue and dry mouth over a relapse any day.

no, I don’t have any access to any supplemental oxygen unfortunately

I have been off all my meds for the whole time I have been sick which is two month’s time period.

Metformin actually helped me lose weight and then maintain it in the beginning when I had taken it for like a year, I had been on it and only a few months off it
