Best way to establish a routine?

I should be waking up at 8am daily; coding, producing music, and reading books.

My day is random, and I wake up late most days.

It’s tough without having to travel anywhere; e.g. work or school

Idk what to do for motivation.

I’m thinking of forcing myself up at 8am and going for a morning walk everyday whilst it’s cooler in the morning.

I quit my meds today so hopefully I get more energy to do things now.

Have a written schedule.

That’s what I do.

Every couple hours I have a chore.

My house is clean and I’m always on time.

If you adhere to the schedule for a couple weeks, it just starts feeling natural.

I don’t even have alarms anymore.

That’s a good idea, I might plan my day in a diary then tick things off.

Make your own deadlines. Like “code this section by a certain date.” You have to create your own pressure to get things done.

ehhh does you dr know about that? bc if you have meds that you need to take and you suddenly stop them without any guidance from a dr or anyone then i don’t think that’s a good idea and I know this from personal experience,

Infact i think most people will have tried it and it has not gone well, just a heads up if you get any returning symptoms or anything then you should take them again or you risk having a relapse :frowning:

I set an alarm. 5am. I’m up before it most days. I’ve been doing it long enough where it’s routine now. I have a set schedule that works well and keeps me going. Starts with an alarm.

Before i go to sleep i make a list of chores to do, just to structure my days. Sometimes i plan four or five days ahead.

I have to know what to do when i wake up. Maybe it could be something for you? (this is a photo of my list of chores in danish)

My life is part routine, part random.

I go to bed every night around 11pm (give or take and hour) and wake up at 7ish. I really have no choice in the matter. I can’t sleep because olanzapine f*cked my brain. So I take sleep meds and sleep until they wear off, then I’m up for the day.

When I work my delivery driver job its 12-8.

My computer job is more ad hoc, if there is a client I have work, if there isn’t I don’t. And I have to call or be at the clients place when it’s convenient for them.

The weekends are usually reserved for hanging out with the women I’ve met on Bumble.

My days off I just watch TV, read stuff on the Internet, browse this website, random stuff.
