🇬🇧 Benefits - PIP Extension

Just reported my two new diagnoses, and the operator told me many people will be getting extensions to their PIP reviews.

Now I am January 2023 instead of January 2022, so they have added a year on

I am so happy as renewing this I foresee will be very difficult, but at least I have more time to not have to have that money at risk, as I am so reliant on it to top up my income each month

Thought I’d let everyone know they’re doing this, and you may get a letter so don’t panic when you see the brown envelope come through the door

I’m happy for you that you got an extension.

Thats good news. Mine got extended to october 2021. Trouble is they still sent me a pip review form to be filled in by a month. When i rang - they said you still need to send the review form - and the reason i got the extension, was because they can take up to a year to read it!??

@Joker You may still get a review form like i did mate.

Ah ok, I will keep an eye out for that.

The guy on the phone did say they will send a form 6 months before Jan 2023.

I was due to have a review like you say a year before this coming January, but I will be grateful not to have that pain to deal with right now

Literally that money has taken so much pressure off me financially.

It was hard fought to finally get it, but I hope now I am in the system, things may be easier.

Yeah ive had mine 6 years - without even a medical, but ive got a statement coming from the shrink and another one from the cpn to send next week. I hope they take a year to read it! lol.

Fingers crossed for you.

The whole system is so rubbish, I honestly don’t know how it’s allowed to continue in the way it does, as I can’t see how they can be saving money spending all that time rejecting people based on assessments that are full of lies.
