Back when I was on keto my diabetes was doing good (fasting glucose levels under 100) now that I’m off keto my fasting glucose is closer to 120 and climbing and my dr had done tests I am good medically on keto it was just easier to stop but I’m realizing how much keto did for me and I have to make the change back to keto
I was also losing weight (I got down to 229) now I’m up to 137 this is for my health physically and mentally… my mental was pretty good on it too… I’m scared of relapsing into the bad sz person I don’t wanna be
I made lunch for myself this evening I put sausage, 2 bags of brussels sprouts, half a rotisserie chicken, crushed red pepper flakes, and slap your momma. I ate it for my dinner and it’s really good!

Thanks for the welcome. I have done keto in the past and lost 90 lbs. My meds mess with my triglycerides so thats why i need to be on keto, because it seems to lower them. Plus im on olanzapine and it seems to keep the hunger at bay. Currently on 20 mg of olanzapine and fluoxetine 40mg. Doctor approved.

I was doing really well with it for awhile but since it can be a difficult diet to sustain long term I fell off the wagon and gained my weight back. Not fun! So I am back on it again trying to get down about 20 pounds.
This diet works but to key is to stay consistent with it.
I’ve tried to get back on the keto wagon but it’s been hard so I went to my local supermarket and got some cooked meat (no breading spices only) and I got a good chunk of pork butt roast and I have a hen defrosting in the fridge so it’ll be ready to cook in the air fryer… it has giblets in the package according to the package (score!) I should be able to make it tomorrow and I’m excited I plan to rinse it (it said it was in a water brine) put butter and whatever seasoning I want under the skin and stick a fork in it all over so it cooks well and enjoy it both of those should last me a week + I might freeze some so it lasts longer! I love food but I gotta keep on this diet for mental and physical health after a week back on keto I’ll start checking my sugar in the morning again… I’ve been scared lately
Keto is hard work but it’s worth it for me. Yeah you lose a lot of weight but come out the other side and I’ve experienced good gains with negs and positives. Got down to lowest clinical doses of my psych meds and improvements in the subtle things like motivation and basic things like experiencing pleasure are way up.
It’s dumb but it works for me. You bottle that and find out why then your onto a winner and yeah they’ll put it in pill form and your all good but meanwhile. It’s hard to find good fats but mct coconut oil is good for macros. Gets some fat into your system and you can run marathons on it apparently. Meanwhile it’s nothing worse than doing something like going vegan for me. It’s just a different way of eating.
If your using carb manager it really isn’t too hard to go lo carb!
I can’t do keto because its too restrictive. But I do low carbs and have had some success with it. Good luck on your new diet. Hope you get some good results in a few months.
I messed this morning I had pizza but I made the family burgers I use romaine lettuce as my bread, red onion, spicy garlic sauce, and a sunny side up egg! I had two of those and it was REALLY messy but oh so good!
@StarCrazy it is really restrictive but it can taste really good!
@rogueone it’s hard and I fell off the wagon this morning but I just went whoops and didn’t beat myself up over it I understand I might mess up here and there but what’s important to pick yourself up again and get right back on it!
