Are you treatment resistant? What do you take?

I am. Different psychs I’ve had (including my current one) have told me I’m treatment resistant.

What are the best med options for this? I’ve tried clozapine. I had to stop because of side effects. My current psych thinks I should be on it again but she doesn’t prescribe it. I’d have to go back to an awful public run mental health clinic to try it again. She also mentioned ECT but I fear it.

I currently take 2 antipsychotics but I still get symptoms on and off. Meds and therapy help some, but I’m just wondering if there are other specific meds for treatment resistance.

The only med that kinda worked for me was zyprexa and latuda. I was still pretty psychotic on both but they helped.

Ive just Resigned myself to the fact that im gonna have to find something else because the meds never take it all away

Yes, I’m treatment resistant. I’m currently on Cobenfy and Haldol. I was on clozapine and it worked great but i had to stop it due to cardiac side effects. There needs to be more research out there to develop more and better meds.

I hear you. Zyprexa in combination with another antipsychotic kinda works for me too. Better than anything else.

I concur I concur! This needs to happen. I hope that you are doing ok on the cogency and the haldol.

Low dose of Vraylar. Max dose of Wellbutrin. Select supplements. CBT, DBT, and other therapy out the wazoo.

I’m curious because my doctor has recommended Vraylar before, what is the low dose that you’re on? I’m also on the lower doses of medication usually.

1.5 mg in the morning.

Nice. Good for you.

I have been on most of the newer meds and a few older ones

Been on clozapine for a while now but it’s only partially effective

My body doesn’t absorb it well

Maybe that’s why I have so much trouble

They didn’t bother to check the AP levels in my blood for anything else

I’m not treatment resistant. I usually respond well to medications. I did become resistant to one medicine though in the past but I’d been on it many years.

I’m currently on a depot of aripiprazole once a month. 50mg of qutiapine and 200mg of sertraline.

I’m on Seroquel and Solian. It’s took a lot of trial and error to get there.

I know Solian isn’t available in America but it’s changed my life..
