Are people who exercise happier

Exercise —> good for mind ----> feeling better ----> happy ?

I agree.

But I can say as someone who is not in great shape,

Exercise is hard.

Miserable even.

Once you get in the habit, it starts to feel so much better and you realize what you were missing,

But getting here is hard.

Yes. The starting might be rough though but once routine then good.

Exercising helps my mood.

I’m more positive when I exercise.

Unfortunately I don’t lose weight with exercise but I do feel better mentally.

I do yoga as my exercise and its all good. Yoga actually gets more difficult as you get older but it always feels good. Like John Mellencamp said, Hurts So Good! (For you older folks).

yes i think so i had no idea how much it would help!! its better to pace yourself with a goal set in mind but not think too much on it.

I was extremely miserable, depressed and suicidal during the years when I was running 1.5 mi. a day from 1987 - 1996. I was very sedentary after that, because I hurt my back, and I stayed miserable until 2005 when I started yoga, doing it 4 times a week. Within 6 months, both my depression and my back pain were completely gone. And stayed gone as long as I kept up the yoga. @mjseu

I have a theory, people who exercise are healthier …

exercise —> get oxygen —> burn waste in one’s body ----> body is healthier —> helps to counter depression etc. ----> feels healthier and has not so many illnesses

just my thoughts.
