APs permanent brain damage

It seems that negative symptoms only improve when psychotic, I feel like going off meds without psychosis won’t change anything. Someone told me its normal as an increase of dopamine gives more energy and reduces negative symptoms but at the same time causes psychosis.

Be careful @anon67051439 you might start thinking funny and make wrong choices. This whole stopping meds and going on wellbutrin doesnt make sense.

This sounds like a very bad Idea Aziz.

It might take a year to adjust to your lower dose. Your used to higher dose for long time.

I stopped meds and went on Wellbutrin only for a while last year and I still had to go back on APs because I became unstable and was heading toward a relapse.

Welbutrin was an odd one for me. Just got mega sensory overload, agitated, and id also just sit and stare at the wall a lot. So @anon67051439 dont go thinking thats the magic elixir, it might help it might not. Prob a better way is learn to cope on your halved dose for like half a year then see if you can add welbutrin on as a trial.

I was on Wellbutrin 150mg for 6 weeks before, it did nothing like candy. I hated that it blocked the buzz I get from nicotine. Two reasons why I stopped it.

Abilify dulls my emotions by a lot, but it blocks the horrible noise sensitivity. But too much Abilify and I start making tons of mistakes at daily tasks and am a lot less motivated to do things. I think that the blocking of the noise sensitivity is the main reason I’m on it, and not because I couldn’t hack hearing insults. I’m tougher than people think I am.

Doctors suggested Wellbutrin for my low level depression, but I did more exercise instead (the pharmacist didn’t want me on more meds). Slowly, I’m recovering from the reality that AI is going to cost many people their jobs. It hit me hard at the end of 2021 (because illustration was a special skill of mine, in addition to graphic design). Closed doors. They’re everywhere now that I’ve been out of a job for so long. Nothing but closed doors.

Aziz I’ve really got brain damage from antipsychotics usage of 30 years. I really some days think that I’ve got Alzheimer’s. I. cannot learn and concentrate and remember but of cause those signs can also be contributed by negative and cognitive symptoms of schizophrenia.

I would have quit the nicotine.

It is hard to tell if APs cause negative symptoms? They sedate you, so people might get confused.

I am on 1.5mg. I will go off meds soon and add Wellbutrin.

Oh my gosh. I am really concerned for your well-being.

Me too Aziz. I told you in the other topic.

Quitting meds and adding Wellbutrin is like a car running downhill. With you suddenly letting go of the brake. And pressing the gaspedal. All at once. You’ll go in overdrive. Get psychotic. You also don’t eat.

I know you want a better life. But this is not the way. Stay on meds and food. And make a plan with someone trustworthy. Be it a doc, a family member, a social worker. Make slow changes.

We care about you, and don’t want you to crash.

@anon67051439 why in the f_ck would you want to quit your meds?!?!

You’re asking for big trouble that’s all I know.

Some medication related negative symptoms is better than the brain damage you’ll be experiencing from a psychotic break!

Get for real man!

In my opinion you should be evaluating in months not weeks

So you’re saying negative symptoms will improve with more time?

I am on 1.5mg and no change in negative symptoms, I feel the same as on 6mg. I am mad.

My Drs don’t care, they said they can’t help me and that there is no treatment for negative symptoms. I have to live with them for the rest of my life even if I never get psychotic off meds.

Give it some time. How long have you waited three weeks?

Bro you took 3mg extra for years just over agitation. You did that yourself
