Had a terrible back pain which paracetamol and ibuprofen didn’t touch. Bought some co-codamol from the chemist.
Can see how this stuff could be habit forming. Pain has just disappeared.
But I can’t trust myself. Am going to give the pack to my mum to keep. I am very weak willed.

Good move to give it to your mum @Jimbob. Speaking from my current state of withdrawals and liver damage I can say I regret getting hooked a second time in my life.
It is hard though, I still want that high from the copious amounts I was taking. I haven’t found anything to replace it yet.
I was thinking about switching my codeine habit to something else I can control like diet and exercise. What do you think?
Oh and most importantly, I hope that pain settles for you.

Apparently in Russia you can get straight up codeine otc.

But turtle didn’t know what tabs were…I could see how you could sell it OTC if they don’t hand out tabs like they don’t know how addictive they are…
It’s getting more and more difficult for me to source them otc. Chemists in my state take your license details and put the details into a statewide database so the chemist can see how much and when you have previously bought codeine products.
One of my regular chemists that wasn’t checking licenses has just started checking now so I’m boned if I try to buy from them again.
I came within an inch (centimetre?) of getting addicted to codeine. Some cold remedy I bought at the chemist had it. And boy, did it take the edge off things.
Then one day, I bought it when I didn’t have a cold. I thought ‘what’s am I doing?’ and threw it in the bin.
