I remember when I almost became addicted to codeine

Years ago I had a cold so bought some stuff for that and it had codeine in it. It took the edge off things.

The next time I had a cold I bought the same stuff.

Then one day I didn’t have a cold and bought it !

I was standing at the bus stop with this stuff in my hand wondering what the hell I was doing. So I threw it into a nearby bin.

If I hadn’t thrown it into the bin I would probably have continued buying it and be have a codeine problem today.

I had a lucky escape.

I almost had a problem with it after my brain surgery. They had me on it constantly for three months, then suddenly cut me off. Man, that sucked, but I’m grateful now. I was getting too dependent on it.
