I may ask my pdoc about Modafinil 13 nov, she wanted to prescribe it last apt but I refused and said the caffeine is enough. I bet the Modafinil is much stronger.

I am seeing 2 pdocs right now. One pdoc told me there is no need to see the other pdoc anymore so idk if he cancelled my apt with her. If he didn’t they will call to confirm on 13 nov and I will go ask her to try Modafinil.

Don’t take it if you have issues with anxiety or panic attacks. It also can make you aggressive if you have issues with aggression.

i mean i take it, not that you should. any stimulants can mean trouble anyway and best avoided if possible, but this one is more of a wakefulness agent than a stimulant. not much you can do about negs pharmacologically.

yeah it can make you lose your ■■■■ at higher doses with irritability and anger. but sometimes even at higher doses it’s meh. you want to have your sleep together, and only take it if not sleep deficient, as then it really doesn’t help much, even though it helps you stay up if sleep deprived, but if taken late in the day, it can mean more insomnia and vicious cycle. insomnia itself leads to irritability and flipping out.

I have issues with aggression, thats why I went from 3 to 6mg risperdal. I guess dopamine is a poison but also is what makes ppl happy.

stimulants may not be for you then. if you can force yourself to exercise quite a bit, that helps.

I will stick to my caffeine pills. I have no side effects from it.
Are you an aggressive type? The thing with modafinil is that it triggers norepinephrine. Which in turn can make you aggressive.
Alot of students use modafinil for increased cognition. For me it was the opposite. I had trouble with focus and trying to think creatively on modafinil.
I hope it works for you. Do remember, modafinil isn’t a wonder drug. It only keeps you awake.

i didn’t know it does anything on norepinephrine. i know that bupropion causes aggression/anger as a side effect too for some people. bupropion didn’t do anything for me, but modafinil helps with anhedonia/motivation shortly after taking it, then poops out.

Not before sz but since sz I dont know myself anymore, I easily get angry and rage at my family and at online ppl. I got suspended for it sometimes. Wellbutrin made this worse and it boosts dopamine and norepinephrine so maybe you’re right, it makes sense that adrenaline makes ppl aggressive. Norepinephrine is adrenaline in the brain.

That happened to me.
Caffeine pills are working well to stay awake thats what I told my pdoc and she suggested Modafinil to replace the caffeine.

also some racetams do that too, but nicotine does not. nicotine is very addictive though, and tolerance builds quickly, and then it just stops working, but you can’t quit vaping or gum/patch/spray or cancer sticks, etc.
i’ve had good experience with ritalin, but they will not prescribe it to cover their own asses.

galantamine works for negs for some people. iirc it’s related to nicotine, but different. didn’t do much for me.
Well one pill of modafinil is like 3 cups of coffee.
I used to take modafinil with coffee and it upset my stomach. I remember having diarrhea.
Also it can cause both hypersexuality and impotence. I remember wasting some of my days googling stuff and also masturbating. This was when I needed to study which ruined my study days.
