I am PUMPED. I have waited YEARS to try to solve my excessive sleepiness issues. I have gotten so many tests done and all came back normal, including my first sleep study, but my second sleep study came back with results indicating I had a sleep disorder!! I’m a bit confused bc my doctor was saying I had narcolepsy but the sheet he gave me says I was diagnosed w hypersomnia NOS and circadian rhythm sleep disorder delayed sleep phase type so I may ask about that. But I will FINALLY be getting help. I really really hope this will drastically improve my functioning and school work by making it so I am not sedation level sleepy and needing multiple hour naps every day. The doc even said my hallucinations may be hypnogogic and may go away once I start treatment! Wow!
Watch out for increased psychosis.
There is that possibility with modafinil.
I thought modafinil had least chance of causing that as it doesn’t affect dopamine. That’s why my doc chose it. Fingers crossed!!

Fantastic, no more sleep spells and I think it’s even eliminated my negative symptoms as I don’t see how depakote could be helping w that.
thats really great to hear do you feel you have more energy in the daytime to get up and do stuff?
Well it’s sort of complicated because it makes it so I’m not sleepy, but it doesn’t necessarily make you not tired. Like for me it’s not really a stimulant like caffeiene. So I usually like to have a cup of coffee with it as well. But I do have all my willpower and motivation back to do things for sure.
you seem to have a great doctor, that they care enough not to just slap a diagnosis on you and give you random meds and send you home. this is what happens much of the time, they dont seem to have time for us.
as for the depakote, u have me wanting to try it now! unfortunately a youtuber told a story where he experienced hair loss on it and after seeing that i dont want to try it

Huh I haven’t heard of depakote causing hair loss before. It has really worked absolute wonders for my mood though, w no side effects.
