Anyone tried Abilify and Rexulti?

I need to know if there are enough real differences between these two drugs.
I have been on Abilify before but might want to try Rexulti.

Anyone try both Abilify and Rexulti?
What’s the difference?

I have been on Abilify for a couple of years and it seems to work well with not many side effects adn I am on a pretty high dose.

I really need to hear from people who have tried both drugs.
I’m glad that Abilify is working for you.

This is good to know @Schizzy_Nicky
Were there any other differences that you noticed?

Not that I can tell. Why are you thinking about switching?

Risperidone is making me gain too much weight.
High prolactin, high triglycerides, high cholesterol.
Fatigue.

Yeah, I can empathize with those symptoms. I was on Risperdal last year. Had trouble going up stairs in the morning.

I still have gained some weight on Rexulti. It’s not some miracle drug. But at least my libido is back with revenge.

I can afford it because my pdoc gave me a card that allows me to have it for free, indefinitely. I’m pretty lucky.

I’ve been on both in the past, Abilify worked for me when I was a young teenager, tried Result recently and noticed no positive improvement what so ever.

Any other differences that you can tell @Hanna_Foxx?

Well Abilify made me really hungry all the time as a teen, even though it’s advertized as weight neutral. Rexulti didn’t effect my hunger at all. In fact I actually lost 6 pounds in the two months I was on it

Oh ok, thanks @Hanna_Foxx.

Was Rexulti less stimulating than Abilify?

rexulti is more stimulating than abilify. I wasn’t on abilfy very long because I got td from it but it didn’t have a positive effect on my suicidal ideation and obsession like rexulti does. Now I still have td but I can’t stop the rexulti because when I tried everything went wrong in my brain. Rexulti is definitely helping me to stay out of bed and away from constant suicidal thoughts and attempts. I also take saphris, which is a little sedating, I can’t imagine what rexulti alone would be like, maybe a little too stimulating for me since I’m sza bipolar type and it could contribute to hypo-mania, I’m not sure. But I think I’m doing ok with the mix of rexulti and saphris, I haven’t had any suicide attempts and I usually stay out of the bed. I have breakthrough positives during periods of high stress however and of course I have negatives galore.

I forget, are you sz or sza?

I have SZA and I found Abilify to be way too stimulating.
I am worried that Rexulti will be the same for me.

Maybe I should try Saphris.

What’s wrong with your Risperdal, @Vertigo?

I am having a very difficult time losing weight, I keep gaining.
Also my Triglycerides are very high and so are my cholesterol levels.

I am always fatigued and my negatives are worse.
