Anyone here ever apply for disability? and know how long it takes?

I recently applied for it online and was wondering how long the application process took for some of you?

Long ago my case manager applied for me, I just signed some papers. I think it took a year or two to be approved.

I think mine took about 3 months, but I have a long history of mental illness including a lot of hospitalizations. :sunny:

Now that I think about it, I have no real idea how long it took to get approved. I did get $11k in back pay though so it probably took a while.

I am currently in the process and it should take no longer than two and a half more months.

Mine took three months but I had a lot of baker acts(72 hr hold) under my belt

Took six months, I went into the ss office to do it.

Which country are you in?

USA has by far the best disability program with ssdi

Average is 1100 and you can make up to 1090 a month without losing it

That’s cool. In the UK I get equivalent to about $745 a month I think

I got it in a few months but my partner’s cousin has to wait 16 months.

I got SSDI almost immediately after my interview. I had several recent hospitalizations though and I worked a lot before I got sick.

Mine took 2 years, but that’s because it was for social anxiety disorder, which my attorney told me is one of the more difficult disorders to get disability for. The quickest you will probably get an answer is 2 or 3 months. In my case it was a “no.” Don’t take it personally if you do get a “yes” the first time.
