I’m a Jain but not praticing.
Unitarian. But not practicing.
Haha I guess if I don’t practice I’m not part of it.
You are what you are. You can call yourself whatever you want!
Orthodox Christianity runs through my veins, it is one of the oldest forms of Christianity on the planet.
Although I have not completely abandoned the idea of Jesus - I consider myself more Spiritual - I try to steer far away from organized religion. Churches and priests make me very uncomfortable - One of the principals at a school where I worked at for a long time, was an ex Nun - she was a horrible person who abused the coworkers.
I do believe in a kind and all giving God - I dont have to put a name on HIm or Her
Why is this in unusual beliefs? I’m not delusional!
If a police officer does not serve and protect, then he is not a police officer.
If a person of a religion does not practice that religion, then…___ ___ _ _ _ ______ .
Please fill in the blanks.
If a person of a religion does not practice that religion, then…THEY ARE EITHER BACKSLIDEN, LOST, A HYPOCRITE_ ___ _ _ _ ______ .
(According to the particular religion anyways)
Very ascetic, with many good points regarding non violence and health…
I’m Christian and it would be up to who is doing the observation whether I am ‘practicing’…I believe by faith, I pray, I get answers to prayer, I trust in God for things, read scripture, share scripture and my faith but without being pushy or demanding someone convert on the spot (This one may go against some Christian teaching of aggressive evangelism)
I am not sinless (no one is) but I avoid sinful practices for the most part. Sometimes I swear and I shouldn’t. I have gone long periods of time without uttering one cuss word, like over a year… Don’t drink, don’t fool around, believe in being with your one partner and not cheating, which also means not looking at porn which I feel is a sin even if you are single, and other than a few times as a teen and young adult I haven’t looked at it…those lifestyle areas I would say are practicing…
I do not go to church and haven’t been since 2007. To some Christians that means I am not practicing…but Christianity is NOT about going to a building, it’s about faith, and you can have fellowship with just 2 or more people as Jesus said.
@Daisy79 A lot of the more Religious posts get pushed over to the Unusual Beliefs section, because the other more delusional posters will put their 2 cents in and the thread will quickly be tainted with delusional posts - so it is automatically pushed over to the Unusual Beliefs section - Its not you
We weren’t raised with any particular religion. There is a huge Catholic side to my extended family… but my parents get very frustrated by the church.
They themselves don’t practice any religion… I’m sure that’s why we don’t.
They just try to be kind people… and teach us to be kind. No religion involved.
Yeah, I haven’t been to church in a year or two but it does not mean I am not a Unitarian still. They don’t revoke your membership card for non-attendance, lol!
He is still a police officer, it just means he is not doing his job or doing a lousy job.
My religion is simple, i practice all day every day.
Here are the rules:
-
Don’t hurt anyone.
-
Keep as much semen away from the cursed death womb as possible.
-
Cross fingers and hope we actually get to live one day.
I don’t need a higher power- I have a cat-If only she would come out from hiding under my bed. I used to go to church for awhile. At first, I was angry at God for taking my sister from me. Then I decided to go back to church; but, I have found the “sin” and “Satan” very harmful if you happen to suffer from a mental illusion. I believe that it in some manner contributes to my delusions and hallucinations. I don’t believe it explains it all. There is brain and body chemistry, stress, environment, childhood trauma; maybe hereditary and genetics. I follow the ancient paths of magic, nature, poetry, and cats. The only good thing I can say about church is the opportunity for socialization and to meet people. Otherwise, I believe it has become harmful.
