I have a collapsed disc in my lowest lumbar vertebra, and it took losing over 100 pounds to get pain control. I was simply putting too much stress on my back before.
I have lower back pain that makes it difficult to do even the simplest things. Doing about anything longer than twenty minutes makes my back really hurt. I couldn’t do that for over an hour. I can’t take the pain, and I think I would make it much worse by exercising for long periods of time with my lower back. I can mow one small lawn in the summer, and that is about it. All my considerable body fat is concentrated right around my middle, where it puts a lot of stress on my lower back.
I have scoliosis upper. I am working with physical therapy to ease it. I can’t be totally eradicated. I will rely on phys therapy. I hope y’all feel better soon.
Yes, I definitely believe walking helps your back pain. It’s been my experience but be careful not to overdo it. I’ve got to walk as many days a week or else I’ll be an invalid one day not too far away. No care home wants me. This summer I was able to get by on just twenty minute walks. I get a destination, usually ending up going to the pharmacy to buy an item. I didn’t like the heat at all and the sweating it caused. It is helpful in more than one way, just to get out in public and preserve my persona.
