The grocery store opens in two hours and I can’t walk there due to back pain. I’ve been sedentary and obese. I can take a ten minute walk but that’s my limit. This is a new problem.
Yes- chronic lower back pain. Due no doubt to being obese/poor posture/scoliosis/being sedentary
Yes, I have debilitating back pain. It is strange. I can do things like bend over and pick up a microwave, but doing things with my hands while I’m standing hurts pretty bad. I used to clean four toilets twice a week at the clubhouse, and my back really hurt while I did it. Washing dishes is really rough. It really limits the kinds of jobs I can do.
I didn’t sleep last night. No wonder I’m really to fold my hand. I have nothing to eat but a tub of Greek yogurt. I will have to get to the store. There’s a pharmacy and a gourmet store.
We think I have back problems, but I’m not really sure. My lumbar spine hurts pretty bad sometimes, but not terrible compared to other body parts. But after talking to the ortho about my hip and how I can’t stand up he thinks it’s actually my back. I’ve been full time in a wheelchair since the beginning of the year because I can’t stand up without vomiting or passing out from the pain being so bad. We thought it was from when I dislocated my hip, but both legs and feet are numb, tingly, and really weak, so now they suspect my back. I’ve got an MRI on Thursday, so I guess we’ll see.
Yes, I have a muscular weakness on my left side. When I walk it hurts in my left knee because I don’t walk straight.
Sounds like you have really terrible core strength. If you look in YouTube there are a lot of exercises you can do sitting in a chair to help strengthen them
That seems hard to deal with. I hope the docs can get you out of the wheelchair again!
Thanks. Yeah, it’s pretty ■■■■■■■ miserable. I’ve been an ambulatory wheelchair user since high school, but not even being able to stand up with both legs if really ■■■■■■■ with my mental health. Especially since my daughter, age 6, is so accident prone. She’ll get hurt and it’ll take me a ridiculously long time to get to her and I feel ■■■■■■■ awful for it.
But also I really really miss being active. Going for walks in the woods, searching for pretty rocks along the creek, gardening. I hate being stuck on the pavement.
I just had surgery for back problems.
Wow. You’re really suffering. Take it easy. Your health is top priority.
You’re probably right. My hips and my legs have always been tight. I spent a lot of time stretching them, but they just wouldn’t loosen up. The doctor said it was because the cartilage in my legs and hips had hardened into bone. It’s not bad. I can still do almost anything I need, but I probably won’t excel at gymnastics or ballet.
My back has a lot of problems stemming from a car wreck years ago and lots of hard work in my younger days. A lot of arthritis and old injuries.
I have backpain sometimes.
Dont really know the cause. Back pain is No fun.
Yeah, being lanky i cop back problems now and again. Usually involves me sitting in my Lazy Boy propped up with cushions.
Touch wood i been ok past few months. When its bad i end up paying for a Chiropractor cos the NHS is bloody useless - they just wanna chuck me Codiene and tell me to go away.
My back is so consistently painful that it got me addicted to prescription painkillers. A supplmement called Amylobann 3399 helped make it more manageable. This was a complete surprise as I took it for negative symptoms. I find that regular exercise really helps. Hard to get going but you’ll sure notice a difference once you do.
I’ve had back pain and sciatica since I was 36. I suffered with it for a decade until I was about ready to check myself into a nursing home because the pain was so bad.
That’s when I remembered my old yoga practice and how yoga claimed to be good for the spine.
So, I bought three beginning yoga DVD’s and started doing them regularly. Within six months my back pain was gone. But to keep the pain at bay, I had to keep doing the yoga regularly and indefinitely. Which is fine with me because it keeps me flexible, strong, supple, endurant, balanced, young and feeling great! I recommend it to everyone.
Yes, I’ve had back surgery to reduce the pain. Now I need to do exercises to strengthen my core but it’s difficult to find the motivation.
Yes. Sitting at my desk too many days in a row gives me back ache. I need a more supportive chair I think - the one I have is super basic and doesn’t support my back at all.
Problem is ergonomic chairs are so expensive. Id spend 400£ on a good one, but thats nothing in the ergonomic chair world.
I slipped and fell in 2015 and got my spine fractured. I had to wear this metal cage for 8 weeks, so my spine would heal correctly. I get back pain every now and then. I’m afraid I will need a surgery at some point. My doctor told me I could have paralyzed so I’m lucky my spine only fractured when I had the accident.
I feel for everybody with back problems. It sucks big time. Back pain makes moving so hard and it affects everyday life a lot.
