My cousin by my mom’s brother had Sz too. He committed suicide maybe going on eight or ten years ago now. I thought Sz is caused by your genes. Google just said not necessarily, but Sz runs in families.

My cousin was in the military and got an honorable discharge due to health issues when he came down with Sz. He lived with his mom like I used to as well.
Nope. Not a single soul in my family has sz or sza, besides me.
Aunts, uncles, quite a few. I was a rh factor baby and we have a two times greater chance of developing schizophrenia especially if we are male and have a family history of sz

My dad was rh positive and mom was rh negative which caused my birthing difficulties. Have a wonderful day

I have a nutty father who was able to get by without medicine. He attributes his success to having a routine. His brother, my uncle committed suicide in a greenhouse at the state mental institution. They have since emptied the hospital and sold the land for nearly no money. My grandfather on my mom’s side of the family suffered from depression especially after he retired. He was a psychiatrist in the army and prescribed himself antipsychotic medications.
I have a cousin and uncle with sz. And there are also some undiagnosed cases in my dad’s side of the family.
No thankfully (that I know of) living. I had a cousin and an Uncle who are deceased.
My sister has schizophrenia.
I suspect some other people in my family are undiagnosed.

My sister and law is bipolar but she has worked as a full time nurse for years. She manages well. Obviously no relation there.
