I had to look it up (excuse the pun)

It is:

Oculogyric crises are defined as spasmodic movements of the eyeballs into a fixed position, usually upwards. These episodes generally last minutes, but can range from seconds to hours. 1. At the same time there is often increased blinking of the eyes and these episodes are frequently accompanied by pain."

I’m on abilify and I don’t have it. But I think I have dry eye syndrome. Using the computer for many hours every day doesn’t help.

That’s weird I dont know why I have it tbh

I had those crises years ago. I think the drug I was on was the maximum advised dose of perphenazine.

I thought it was a part of the mental illness instead of the treatment for the mental illness. When I finally mentioned it to the doctor, he knew just what to do to prevent it from happening again.

I got it from Geodon

sorry to hear that you have that. Can’t say I have experienced that.

I had eyelid muscles twitch from too much Risperdal.

I had that from Olanzapine
I also had seizing over to the side and tongue rolling with it
They called that a severe dystonic reaction
At the time I thought it was how my boyfriend was talking to me from a distance. Psychotic or what!?
I’m red flagged never to be prescribed it again

you should mention it to your psychiatrist ASAP

See I want to come off this medication but it’s the only one that works for me. I hate being on it though and having my eyes roll back at work. I dont know what to do tbh. The doc prescribed me some anticolinergenic medication to help stop this but this also has side affects and I’m worried about them because they only roll back sometimes not all the time and i dont want to take another medication all the time for something that only happens sometimes.they cause confusion and forgetfulness and I’m already forgetful and confused I dont know what to do.

Hi, I think you should talk with your pdoc
It’s really not for me to comment.
There may be another med that works, or of course you might relapse.
Ask your psychiatrist what they would recommend
Perhaps with some follow up care they can make it less dangerous in terms of relapsing
Maybe ask if there is anything progressive about occulogyric crisis
